Okay, Im a mormon. But I really hope that stuff is not going on Max. Although Im sure it is. I always hope that "my" people can be more tollorant than that but I am dissapointed alot of the time. So I hope you dont have a problem with me being a mormon. I dont have a problem with any of you. And I hope you guys can be cool about it because some guys on here seem to have a problem with us, even though they have never met me. Something that I am sure I am only getting a *very* small taste of intollorance compaired to you Maxamillion. I sure hope you didn't really get fired for those BS reasons.

Don't sweat it, Max. You were in a bad situation, and now you can go collect unemployment and find a job that's better suited for you. Good luck, man. Not that you will need it.

As for your comment that you have heard or percieved on here relating to Mormons. I would say yes there are some personal bias on here toward your religion but I'd say that it is a lot less then it used to me. I myself used to have a rather HUGE prejudice toward Mormons because of the ones I knew growing up and went to highschool with who were very racist. My personal prejudice was only exacerbated by the group that I worked with. But also not limited to the large number of gay ex-communicated mormons that I know and hearing the stories about how they were treated by friends, family and the church all just for being gay. To say that I was vocal against Mormon's was an understatement. But then I started thinking,I'm gay and vererantly believe in gay rights and equality for one and all. I started thinking if I have hate in my heart for people without knowing them just because of their religion am I no better then people who anger me and hate me just because I'm gay? To say that I had an appiphanny (sp?) is an under statement. Shortly there after Joe (Fly22) who is also Mormon and I started talking on occassion in PM and I met him in person at NJC05 we all hung out with his new wife Asher and he was kool and I count him as a friend. I guess what I'm saying is that there will always be people who hate somebody or some group or for one reason or another all that you can do is ask/pray for more understanding from that person and people at large and then go about living your own life and being happy!

edit* ok- they shouldn't. if they do, they're completely in the wrong to do so. I'm not claiming to know what happened, or how. but please don't let a few bad apples ruin the batch.

Yeah, I think you get bad apples in any group/religion. Those that don't entirely treat others in the manner they are taught to do. Sorry about your job. I've been there before too. Got laid off with my first post college job. It stinks. |

mormonism is predicated on lies, hypocrisy. Mormons are not bad people, just brainwashed, or so it seems. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/4809/mormon.html adios

Whether it was intolerant Mormans, racists, or just insecure corporate scum goons there is no way to be sure and it doesn't matter. It is THEIR loss and I know this because I have met Matt and no the kind of guy he is. No one from our industry had better ever even try to pull this B.S. on you Matt or they'll have the J.C. posse after their azzzz!

Sorry to hear about your termination. Mormons or Muslims. . .for me, it's never about the religion but the person's perception of what's right behavior within a religion. Any person who believes a religion condones degradation of any individual has serious problems.

The sad truth is that everyone in our society discriminates in one small way or another. From the person that assumes the lady with the Southern accent isn't well educated to the little old lady that clutches her handbag a little tighter when the black dude walks withtin 5 feet of her. Heck, I try my damndest not to discriminate, but I still catch myself doing it. The best we can do is just try to be aware of our stereotypes and realize when we're doing things we probably shouldn't.

Thats almost like one of my old jobs..." you are scheduled to be here at such a time but we give you a 3 minute buffer." You show up a minute late.."we are writing you up." My question is what the heck is the buffer for?

Sorry to hear that Max. You'll find something soon. The worst feeling about getting fired must be thinking how you put in good work for a company, and that's how you end up. You can't even use it as a reference for your next job. Also wondering, where are you on the flight training ladder? |

max sorry to hear that you lost your job. whether you liked it or not it still sucks when they say get out and never come back. for the mormon thing, my friend grew up in utah and she tells me that they are some of the most selective and cultish people around. now im not saying all are but for the majority they are narrowminded individuals. i think to get the best perspective of the mormon lifestyle all that have hbo should tune in on sunday nights and watch big love, that gives you the best side of THOSE people. max if you are really pissed i say you walk in there and just go postal. no but in all seriousness it sounds like you are pretty level headed guy and im sure it will be no time before you get another job. good luck. |

Hey Max, Stop trippin over the bullsheyyat and take this as a kick in the rear to gets to steppin. Go to Skymates or wherever, get your ratings, and do what you 've been planning to do. Either you wanna fly comercially, fly recreationally, or keep sayin' I'm boutsta. My bad if you mentioned this course of action in a previous post I didn't fully read, but what I do know is flying commercially is all you talk about doing and don't get yaself caught up in the hype. Don't fret sayin I'm stuck like chuck...get busy dyin or get busy tryin.

At will employment, my friend. Sure, they'll tell you it means the employee has more freedom, but the truth is, all the freedom is on the employer side. Busting your butt and doing a good job is no protection because as soon as Sanjeev in Bangalore or Yuri in Moscow or Ming in Shanghai will do it for a quarter of the price, your employer can exercise that at will provision and you're without a job.
