I learned yesterday that I have been nominated new teacher of the year for my school!! There are about 7 new teachers at my school, and in my county, administration doesn't even have to nominate a new teacher of the year....so yeah, this is pretty cool!

WOW!! congratulations!! it must make you feel good to know that your doing a good job and that the kids appreciate you!! how long have you been teaching? what grade/age?

This is my first year. I teach elementary (K-5) music. It's challenging sometimes, but it's alwas fun to see what the kids are able to do. Little kids are capable of a whole lot more than some people realize!

ahhh the trusty recorder eh? hahahhaha

I think that's the only instrument I remember way back then.. it wasn't till middle school when "band" actually started!
