Default First flight this morning

I took my 1st Discovery Flight with my flight instructor this morning out of North Vegas. It was by far the best thing to happen to me in a very long time. What a great feeling. She took off we climbed to about 7000 circled around the city a bit. I took the controls for a few min while cruising and she told me to drop the nose a bit and get a feel for the ariplane (C-172) and I was HOOKED. She quized me a bit on what I have learned in ground school thus far by putting the airplane is situations then asking me what to do next ect. I did great and was told I will do great when the time comes. TEASEEEEEE. All in all what a great morning.

PS. Can I log this?

Noooooooo!!!!!! Run for your life, man! This aviation thing is a SICKNESS that will drain every last resource out of you and leave you in massive debt!! Get out while you still can!!!!

And if you can't, well....my name's Matt, and I'm a pilot. Welcome to our 12-step support group, Aviators Anonymous.

p.s., hellz yeah your disco flight is loggable! You can bet it's already in your instructor's logbook, get it in yours too!

You can log it if you have a student pilot certificate and your instructor endorses the flight.

You don't need a student pilot certificate until you solo, I thought?

I hope you don't because my AME F'ed up and only gave me my First Class Medical but no Student License, so I get it on Monday, and I have already logged 7.9hrs.

You can log any flight that a CFI gives you with the intent of providing an instructional flight...no student cert needed until you solo

Awesome man, are you training at First Flight or West Air? I used to live a few miles from VGT near Cheyenne and Rainbow. I did a Discovery flight at Silver State Helicopters there too. It was awesome, though I think I'll stick to fixed wing.

Congrats man and it is deffinately loggable. Your instructor should have told you that.

PolarBear. Neither flight school, I'm accually enrolled in a program they are offering at CCSN ( Aviation Degree Program ). The airplane I believe was owned by West Air. I logged it as 1 hour. Sweet I have 1 hour TT 999 more to go.

Cool, hope you had a blast! I worked at West Air for about 4 months. I lived right there on Cheyenne and Rancho. I didn't know they had a program there at CCSN... interesting......

Cool they moved it from Boulder City huh? That is good. Actually they have had a flight program since 2002 I believe, but have always contracted with schools in the area. I left Vegas though(Hopefully for good this time *fingers crossed*) so I never looked into it very far.

Congrats on entering the world of aviation, and taking to the skies. Hopefully you won't run into any issues with your training!

Enjoy the greatness that is flight!
