Salary !

Well my job has decided to open four full-time, salaried flight instructor positions. It's not much of a salary (about $5k more than a first year pilot at Mesa), but at least it's a steady income. Anything over the 30hr per 2week pay period billing requirement the instructor gets the standard full time CFI pay of $22/hr. plus benefits, etc.

Anyway I got one of the slots.

I guess I gotta actually get off my @$$ and get my II finished up.

Oh and I just billed 26 hours this past pay period.

Anything more than 30 hours, huh? So, if you're billing 80-100 hours per month, they're really ramming it deep, eh? Man, if you're going to give me a slary, give me one when I have a bad month AS WELL as when I bill 100 hours. None of this self-preservation stuff. That's the exact reason you get bitter CFI's.

Are you flying much out there? Keep it up and DON'T LET THE NEGATIVE WHINNING BIZNITCHES GET YOU DOWN!!!!!! There is plenty of flying out there. In the last 36 hours, I've added 3 new full-time students. I'm up to ten now. I won't have a day off for the next 30 days, it's looking like - oh, well....we're having fun, right?

Yeah I'll be there tonight ...

and Mtsu ... if I bill anything OVER the 30hour mark (within the two week pay period) i get the extra hours at $22/hr. so my base pay is the salary and if I fly over the "billing requirement" I still get paid the extra $$$.

Course actually billing over 30 in two weeks is kinda hard it's taken me four months to bill 24 hours in a period. But the staff should be shrinking as they want to cut the CFI staff from 13 to 6 (through attrition no one's getting fired).
