| Hey everyone...I just got hired at SKW on the 11th! Not as a pilot but as a Cross Utilized Agent. Basically, I do everything from ticketing to ramp ops. I shadowed someone yesterday and it was great. I cant wait to really learn the ticketing system, it looks complicated. But anyway I just wanted to announce that. Im so happy that I got on with Skywest. Finally, does anyone have any advice, tips, etc., about working in the airline industry? Thanks a lot for your replies. |

| Santa Maria is a neat airport. I've been there quite a few times in the past 4 months. Goodluck with the job! |

[/ QUOTE ] Take it from another cross utilized guy at a similar airline. Rule #1, don't take anything the customers say to you personally. This will go a long way towards saving your sanity and your job. They will get bent out of shape and things such as weather, cancellations, delays, lost baggage, oversold flights, high ticket prices, and that smelly guy in 11C will suddenly become both your fault and able to be fixed by you.....at least in their minds. That being said, get as much time on the ramp as you can. That also goes a long way towards saving your sanity. Congrats, and it's a great networking ability. Does Skywest lower their mins for internal applicants? |

| I don't think they "lower" their mins. but they are willing to give you a chance at the bare minimums. |
