| Welcome, temp. Doug provides a very valuable service with this website. It definitely helped me in choosing a flight school. There is a lot of very good info here, you just have to find it. Don't be afraid to ask questions, but the "search" feature helps a lot - any questions you have may have already been discussed and answered in one of the numerous threads floating around here. Otherwise, enjoy the site and safe flying! ![]() |

| Hey! Right now I am looking into different flight schools and online degree programs as well as financing options. Learning to fly is pretty expensive and after looking into it all I don't think financing is an option for me so I am just going to do some type of online degree program like UVSC and then just work and pay as I go for the flight training. Might take me 5 years to get my private, but I am willing to wait! ![]() |

| Old Skool | That's probably a good plan. You might also want to look at local colleges in the area. They may be cheaper than the online program (or may even have online programs themselves), and you have a wider option of degree choices. Something non-aviation related is better. As far as taking a while to pay for it, think about this: in 5 years you'll be done with next to no debt, I'll still be paying student loans for another 10 years after that. If only I was younger...... (and more patient) |
