| Old Skool | On my way out of work today (my desk job, not my CFI gig) my boss/the owner (one in the same) pulls me into his office and asks if we can talk about my "situation." "The agreement was that you'd get your tickets and now that you have your tickets I thik this would be a good break point." Yup fired. Let go. Down sized. ##### caned. Whatever you call it the end result is me being forced out of a job for the firsttime in my life. And it sucks. It's not a huge shock as we've been losing accounts and clients left and right. In the end it's probably a good thing as I was so burned out with it that I dreaded getting up and going in every morning but I just hate that it was under my terms. So .... long story short, I'm out of a real, paying job. I could try and do flight instruction full time but I honestly can't afford it (at least not right now) or I have to find another "desk" job. Anybody know of any positions around Phoenix/Mesa? |

| Old Skool | I'm proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Desktop Publishing (layout and proofing), writing skills (reporter/editor background), QuarkXPress. I have customer service skills (really, I do) work well under pressure (deadlines, etc.) and am a very fast learner. There are few tasks I can't pick up with a little instruction. I can lead or follow instructions and do well in self-supervised projects. I do well with graphic design as well as other communicative mediums/forums (press releases, editing,) and using those mediums to my advantage in terms of marketing/advertising products/services/businesses outside of the mass communication realm. (I did the design/layout for my resume ... names and addresses have been whited out for posting here). |

| I like the design of your resume - however as someone who looks at 100+ resumes a week, let me offer some one word of advise - the design in the backgroud is awesome - however I would not have the writing over it. It looks like a template you tried to copy (not a good thing). People wonder how resumes are screen, all resumes are headed for the trash if you can not stand out in about 15 seconds, if there is something that catches my eye quickly I will read on, if it is easy to look (yours definately is) I will spend a bit more time trying to find a reason to call them in. |

| Big Chief's Woman | what's wrong with using a template as a resume background? it adds a little pizaazz to the ordinary resume routine. I like the look of the resume, to me, it stands out. if it's difficult to look at or looks ordinary, i would think those would be the ones that would be thrown! Keeping the resume simple, to me, is the big deal.. that it's readable and easily understandable without having to explain in full detail the current qualifications. granted, the only problem with the layout that I see is that if hte resume has to be scanned into a database, the lines could make that difficult. since they're in the vicinity of the needed text. |

[/ QUOTE ] No I really like the graphics - I just do not like the fact the writing goes over it. That makes it look templatish - if he makes the writing fit it would be awesome!!! [/ QUOTE ] Start collecting unemployment while you flight instruct. You should at least get a partial unemployment check. |

| Unfortunately I only work the OC market for IT staff, so it is not quite my area, or my market - otherwise I would try my best. |

| Old Skool | I'll take any leads anyone has but it's not like I'm totally destitute! I have two leads and I have an appointment with a couple employment agencies tomorrow (in PHX the fastest/only way to get a job is through these places, I've found). So it's not the end of the world (yet). I would draw unemployment but a) I don't really want it on my "record" b) And this is the big one there is another reason I don't really want to post here. If I have to I will but I think I'll be able to find something ... |
