Ok. So where should I eat dinner in TUS. The limitations are many and varied. Has to be cheap -- Say less than $15 for dinner. (Passing the savings on to you...) Trying to go easy on the carbs so probably Italian and Mexican won't work. Not too terribly far from the airport. I have an early morning sim. You guys have any good recommendations?

I am actually in Tucson right now. Staying at the Clarion by International. I don't have any suggestions that would fit any of your requirements, but I did eat at some pretty good places: 1702 is a pretty good pizza place near campus. Bison Witches has some good sandwiches. Sam Hughes Championships is a nicer place...definitely not less than $15.

No kidding. You at FSI right now? I'm right around the corner at the Residence. I like that bar at the Clarion.

Is that right next to the Hyatt Place? If so it's a nice bar but it was pricey if I recall correctly.

I used to live in Tucson. I'll second Bison Witches for good, big and cheap sandwiches. Their chicken nachos are also quite good. About a block further north on 4th Avenue is Delectables, which has a great selection of lighter fare, salads and pastas. Still staying under $15 is the greatest of Tucson homegrown restaurants--El Charro, which now has several locations throughout the city. Pretty much everything there is good, but their signature chimmi is especially noteworthy. Sure it's Mexican, but it's Arizona, man! There's an excellent Ethiopian place on Broadway--Zemam's. Very cheap, to boot. How low-carb friendly it is depends on how much of the injera bread you choose to eat. If you're feeling like Indian, Gandhi (on Grant) is quite decent, but will push against your $15 limit, as will Oracle Ave.'s Sushi Hama (best sushi in town, also getting a bit far from the airport). |

. However, I've eaten at only local places since I've been here. Campus area has some good stuff to offer.

I'm here in tucson I would suggest El Guero Canelo 2480 N Oracle Rd Tucson, AZ 85705-4322 Place is cheap and very casual they offer the world famous sonoran dogs (bacon wrapped hot dogs) I ate there the other day for under 12.00 and was actually filled when I left. If this is to casual for you I would also suggest bison witches as well they have a bread soupbowl for 5 dollars comes with chips. Also for you peeps that are in Tucson maybe a meet and great would be fun sometime this week. My buddy Chris just joined this forum and we would be glad to do a meet and greet. |

Im down in TUS every week. I generally to tend dine at the McDonalds or the Sonic west of the airport on Valencia. Also I forget which road it exactly is but just north or the airport there is this neat little place called Taco Bell. Get the grilled steak stuft burrito with the fire sauce. Yummy! Steak for less than $4! Nice!
