Las Vegas Attendance Info Needed...

OK - In order to get accurate information on meeting venue's, I need an estimated attendance number and an idea on when you would be coming into town, so I can look up and talk to meeting planners about space and getting a "group" of rooms... most casino's only let you get a group of rooms if there are 100 rooms or more...

I'm looking into Hawthorn suites as well because you can get a group rate of 10 or more rooms and because they're suite style (extra sofa bed) which means folks can double up (4-6 ppl per room) if they want to...

So - The preferred date we're looking at is September 24-26, the alternate date is Sept 17-19...yes, 2004.. haha

Shout off if you DEFINATELY plan on being there and give a small shout if you're in the "maybe, depends on funds" area as well... I'll try to work with everyone as best as I can.. but it's vegas and it'll be a weekend event...

I need a really *good* estimate in order to "budget" wisely and get the best bang for our buck. The number of attendees is really important to Vegas meeting planners (just found out).

Today is Wednesday March 24 at 11:30pm (my time)... I will give everyone one week to put your "shout" in.. if you need more time than that, PM me.

Well, I just looked at the calendar and the 24th to the 26th looks fine to me. I might even fly out the night of the 23rd.

That is, assuming, of course, that my company doesn't decide to send me to Barcelona for another trade show that's scheduled around that time. Right now, I'm not on the list of people to go, but as I found out right around the time of the ski trip, that means nothing.

Kristie, are they talking about 100 room nights, or are they talking about 100 people? And if the hotels get pissy, I've got some friends who planned 20K plus attendee conventions in Vegas, so they would have some pull with hotels and I could get them to make a call.

Also, if you need a hand with this, let me know. Once upon a time, I worked as a sales assistant in a hotel.

Whether or not my other half can make it will depend on bidding........

excellent.. I'll let you know! this will be kindof a piddly function for them, so who knows what kind of strife they'll give us!

The casino's want 100 rooms guaranteed to be booked before they guarantee a "group" room rate. it's not based on number of ppl, just rooms... I remember looking that up to try and get group rates for our wedding a few years ago (that, obviously didn't work). they're real sticklers about it, which is why we may take the venue off strip like at the hawthorne (but within walking distance)...

oh and we're going to call it "Network JC" since the only event we'll be hosting is a "networking" event.

I plan to be there. If I'm still at this job I've got vacation time to do it, and if I'm fortunate enough to be a CHQ-er by then, I'll jump through every hoop I can to have that weekend off.

Just a small shout our here. I know it's early, but let me know when you have a tentative schedule the weekend. Just curious because it will have to be a Sat/Sun deal for me. One night hotel. I officiate high school football and the season will just be getting underway. Looking at an early Sat arrival and a late Sunday departure. Just checked some prices and I can get RT air from MSP and hotel (for 2, I'd have to bring the better half.

), starting at $580 total depending on where we stay.

There won't really be a "schedule" per se... all we're going to do is host a meet & greet networking event during the afternoon/evening on saturday.. the rest of the time, we're hanging out or we're on our own doing who knows what, just like last year...

we don't know what time yet.. we're still trying to figure out if we want to break it up between ages (ie:under 21 gather during the day, over 21 gather in the evening) or if we should just do an "all ages" session...

I think it depends on how many people we can attract and what their ages are...

I figured there would not be any schedule. I was just wondering about the meet/greet. If it's Saturday that would be great. I won't be able to make it out Friday, I have to head out Sat. a.m. I really hope to make it out.

I'll be there and actually, I might be living there. I am set to move there in September so we will see, could be as late as January.

Would love to meet everyone, and even though I don't know you mtsu, we share a lot of the same views, so it would be cool to meet you.

I am sure if I live there, I'll accomodate a few. If I still live in GFK, I would like to fly myself down so I am sure we could share expenses on that too!
