Hockey Tourney?

I was talking to JDMcFly and stuckinGFK last night in the chat room and we were talking about a JetCareers hockey team for a tourney. We wanted to put together a team for a tourney in Vegas or something.

If people are interested, say something here! Let us know what kind of experience you have and what position you like to play so that we can tell what kind of team we can put together.

When would you guys be doing it? I suck and have no equipment. I wouldn't mind being goalie though.

LOL that's the spirit i'm lookin for. I play some Rec hockey, not really competetive....

I can play either D or Wing, I much prefer the right side.

Yea, sounds fun? Why Vegas? Are we planning on doing some serious betting or something? Do they have an ice rink in Vegas too? Come on, let's play up in Canada.

I'm open to anywhere really, but I suggested vegas last night because we could try and do something during a JC Vegas trip, then we'd have the JC Crew to cheer us on

Edit: There are a good handful of hockey tourneys in Vegas...

I'll play...... as long as I don't have to wear skates. I'll wear the shoulder pads and helmet and PROUDLY be the enforcer! I love knockin' me some skulls.

You'd have to wear skates, but you wouldn't do much moving on them!

Okay, that's seven skaters. Who else wants in? Shooter? Donttouchanything?

Actually, we really only need three more. That would give us two lines of offense and two lines of defense. Sure, we'd be tired, but we could play.

I'd love to but am not sure if I have the budget for a trip to Vegas anymore. I already had to cancel my planned trip to Florida. I guess I just have a lot up in the air to work out before I could commit. I love LW. I shoot right though so that bothers some people. I also like center but I have only won a total of 2 face offs...One of those was because I cheated and basically tackled the other center. HEHE no ref pick up can be fun sometimes!!!

I also am not very good but have a great attitude to go along with poor level of fitness and lack of natural athletic ability!!!

R2F, you can play goalie. You don't have to skate too much. Just quit your diet and bulk up. If you can be 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide, no one will score!!!

don't even worry about it (atleast, that's what tony told me), it's just for fun anyway, but it'd be nice to do something as a group!

Totally for fun. Look, guys, we'd be throwing together a dozen to 15 guys who have never skated a single shift together before they got together for the tourney. It's kind of hard for people to figure out what the tendencies and what the ability level for the folks playing would be.

It would be a lot of fun, though, especially if we did it in Vegas and had a bunch of people watching us in the stands.

I have been reading this forum for some time now. I start flight school in April. With my new found ambition, my hockey playing days might be over. A tournament sounds like a lot of fun. I'm 28m and have been a goaltender for about 17 years. I just play in senior men's leagues now.

p.s. I have all of the equipment for that position, and now how to use them.

Okay, that's eleven skaters and a goalie. We can go with that. Let me do some research into tourneys in Vegas -- if you want to go somewhere else, let me know and I'll look into those -- and I'll see what I can find out!

I'm game. Normally Center, also Winger (usually RW). I played from 6th grade through high school, and now do the rat hockey thing on days off that coencide with the schedule. Let me know when/where, I'll try to make it.
