Ok everyone. The dates are listed as July 16,17, and 18th. I just realized I have recurrent training then. DAMN!!

Anyway, how's the weekend of August 6, 7, and 8th sound? I will assume, everyone who has PM'd me is ok with the date change if I don't hear from you. I will be working on a location for everyone to meet. A complete itinerary is being created.

For those flying in, SNA or ONT will be the best arrival points. I will also arrange hotel accommodations. Everyone who needs a room, let me know how many. Also, if anyone preferres a hotel chain due to rewards points (Marriott rewards, Hilton HHonors etc.), let me know that too. As of now, part of the itinerary will include the Alteon Training Center in Long Beach. Further items to be included. Suggestions are still more than welcome.

Is this California "get together" really going to happen, I was going to organize a couple of things such as a tour of the 717 production plant and tour of the Alteon Training Center. Oh well.

Sorry guys! I've been busy as hell.

To answer your questions, YES!!! It's definitely on for the weekend of August 7th! Plans are being made, so plan to be in OC for that weekend. More concrete itinerary will be in place in a couple of days. I handed the planning over to Ed, since my schedule isn't allowing me to do it anymore.

Ed (skyguyEd) will take over the planning and answer any further questions. Thanks guys!

Since we are weeks away and nothing's been finalized yet... I think we should postpone the event. Also Vegas is right around the corner and we can't expect people to drop whatever they had planned on short notice to make it to socal. If we're going to have a get together we're going to do it so that as many people who want to come can come.

That said I think it's a great idea to have a get together over here especially since we may have a great opportunity with Alteon courtesy of mpenguin1.

As for when to reschedule, there are a few ideas. The weather here is pretty decent year round so a winter / spring thing can work easily. What needs to happen is whenever it is set, we need to get a schedule finalized ASAP no later than two months in advance, preferably much sooner.

Please post thoughts...

Spring sounds pretty good to me... that way, NJC stays in the fall.. and we have some sort of gathering in the spring... next year, San Diego.. the year after somewhere else...

we could make it an opportunity to get all those snowbounds out into some sun & beach weather!

We'd be driving down (since we haven't driven that direction before)... so all we need to find is a place to stay - closeby to where everyone will be located.

it was the only weekend in August that doug was able to get off (he planned it that way to be able to get down there).. if we don't use it for this trip, then I guess we can plan another trip of sorts elsewhere!

I don't see why not; actually I figured we'd postpone it since there has been nothing said about it for a while now and we are just weeks away... but if we can do it we should go for it. So if we get the Alteon thing going that will be good; I say let's have a bbq by the beach one afternoon and we are open to suggestions for more things to do!

So far as OC or SAN let's do it in OC; Alteon is in LGB anyway.

Yeahp. Thats kenny G's Beaver on floats at CMA. Harrison Ford has the same plane at CMA too. Yeah I started flying out of CMA mid june and Im almost done with my PPL.

The tour is happening on the 6th.
