isn't that a spring break week for kids being off of school? it may be difficult to non-rev if the loads are going to be full...of course, if doug gets enuff time off around then, we could drive but for other folks farther away that would non-rev in...

I'd be up for that! The Padres will be in town and we could check out the new stadium! Maybe we could catch the game and then head on over to the Gaslamp?

That's gonna be tough getting into the Padres new park early in the season, a lot of games are gonna be sold out. I am planning on flying down there this summer though to check out a game, Petco Park (I still can't beleive they call it that) is supposed to be really nice.

Come on, it's just as expensive in the Bay Area as it is in San Diego, and the weather's better in San Diego.

Weird thing -- I've met a bunch of San Diegans in the past few weeks here in DC, and they all say that they like DC better. I'm like, are you crazy? But they're highly into causes and I guess that's something that only lives here.

Who said anything about the bay area?

I'm headed for Tahoe to lay low until the other half of my training fundage comes together; my expenses are too high in SD and will just eat away at what I've got now. The IT job situation is as dismal here as in the bay area, so I'm opting out now for the most part, but will do some freelance work from up there. All I gotta do is live cheaply enough that even a temporary job at Home Depot or someplace will do to cover my expenses--my rent here in SD is about to go up to $1400/mo, which is a killer when the cash inflow isn't happening at the usual rate.

Awww, heck. Just get a job bartending at one of the Gaslamp or beach bars and you can clear that much in a week.

Of course, you don't possess the attributes that most of the people who get those jobs have, but that's besides the point.

What's the deal with the event? Has anyone officially taken charge? I'm willing to try to set something up in the Ventura or Santa Barbara area anytime from April 17 to the 4th of July or so.

Yeah, I started the thread. We're doing it in OC. I set a tentative date. I will be contacting people by PM who were interested and will set a final date. It will be sometime this summer, probably July.

of course, we can't 90% confirm yet.. but the timing isn't bad since i'll need a birthday vacation about then! haha

That's gonna be tough getting into the Padres new park early in the season, a lot of games are gonna be sold out.
