How about New Orleans?? We could suck some heads and squeeze some tails...(I mean crawfish, you sick-minded weirdos...)....

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah, Nawlins' isnt known for the crawfish. You gotta go West to Cajun Country. Lafayette and the surrounding area's probally have some of the largest and best amounts of crawfish in the world. New Orleans is more known for Etuoufe, Jambalya, etc. Beach party down at Holley beach how bout . Anyone that lives in this area will definately get a good laugh out of that...

Doug, Maine Lobster Festival is Aug 4-8. Great time but they better book early. Not many hotels around to handle the crowds. But, on the upside (for some) there are two bars overlooking the grounds. For you golfers, look up Samoset Resort , just down the street. A little side trip of interest a couple of miles in the other direction is Owls Head Transportation Museum And , on a personal note, it would be interesting to see a few JCers try the Crate Race.

Crate Race
Contestants from all over take chances navigating a string of 50 partially submerged lobster crates. The winner is the person who stays upright over the largest number of crates. In recent years a young man from Austria won, with over 2000 crates crossed before he fell into the cold waters of the harbor.

san diego/La Jolla (I think it's around there somewhere?)

[/ QUOTE ]

Yup. It's a 20 minute drive from SAN, straight up the interstate. Call it "the five."

It's also where I was born so I'm always up for heading there.

I think the most important question we all need to ask ourselves is:

Do I really want to see some of these folks in a bathing suit?

You know, the water's pretty much the only thing that's cold in Southern California.

But if I do see someone in a speedo, I will throw him off the Scipps pier. And I used to wear one of those, too.

What do you want, I was a swimmer.

Mid-Florida, Tampa/St.Pete sounded good, unless Orlando or some other nearby areas sound better for everyone. Myrtle Beach SC is a nice area, I've been their many times. But the distance that some of us will be more difficult when we are in school. Lets get a few more meetings on the east coast going to. The Las Vegas trip sounded like fun, but the distance can be a big issue for those of us on the east coast, not to mention when school is involved.

Beach Party would be fun
Bathing suits suck(I am required to think that as a girl)
I think it would be cool to meet some of the people that I have been reading so much about.

Myrtle Beach would be good for me since it is only a 4.5 hour drive for me or 1.5 hour flight time.
