Default How \'bout one at the A&S Museum?

Is any one interested in have a get together at the new air and space museum at Dulles? Me and dad want to go over there some time in Jan. in the 172, so I guess a couple of us could meet at the museum, if any one is interested. Oh yeah one more question, what does Peidmont charge for a 172?

What other FBO's does IAD have? I've only ever been to Peidmont, I think I remember a Signature, but they'd probally charge $100

I'm down for this. If anyone is interested I found out how to get there from BWI. I fly SWA, so it's BWI for me. Take a bus from BWI to the metrorail station, then take the train into DC. From there, the Smithsonian runs a bus from the Mall to Dulles for $7/person. It would cost ya $5 on a city bus and take twice as long. We won't even discuss a cab ride....

I'm always up for a meet in DC. I was planning on checking out the new place in Jan, and I'm probably heading to Seattle to see the Boeing stuff.

Sounds like a plan! Would have liked to have been there for the opening although I'm sure the crowds were enormous . . . I would say that might make for a cranky afternoon except for the fact that it's all flying stuff

The new Air & Space magazine has a decent write up on the museum. Even has a map of what goes where. The Space hangar is in 'preview' mode right now, but you can see the shuttle from the aviation hangar. I'm excited about seeing the control tower there. Neat place to watch planes, and according to the article, they have an ATC simulator there where you can try your hand at handling traffic!

I'll probably make the trip second week of Jan. Either the 12th or the 13th. I'm gonna need to wind down a little. I have midterms on the 5th and 6th of Jan.

I think the plan is for me and the misses to go check it out day after Christmas since I'll be at her place just up the road from Dulles.
