| Re: The ski trip is on! Okay, folks. I am so bored at work right now -- is anyone actually in the office today and can I sell them anything even if they are? -- that I did a little checking on prices for places in Park City. The last two times I was in SLC, that is where I stayed because that's where all the fun happens. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
I looked at a few options. First, I looked at a place right by the town lift. This will get you right into the Park City resort if you choose to go that route. The downside is that you will have to drive to Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, or Solitude. You can get to Park City from the town lift and I believe you can take the shuttle to either Deer Valley or the Canyons (it was called Park West when I was there last, so that will tell you how long it's been). It will run $410 a day for a 3 BR/3 BA place. Here's the link. http://www.resortquest.com/parkcity/...yGroupID=26524
Another place that's right in the historic district (so that means within stumbling distance for those who choose to imbibe at the private clubs) is a 4 BR/2 BA place. It costs $400 a night. Here's the link. http://www.resortquest.com/parkcity/...yGroupID=26551
Finally, I found a place that is a condo that is by the Canyons. We've got a choice there, but seeing how it costs $225 for a 2 BR/2 BA place and $255 for a 3 BR/3 BA place, we really should try to get a few more people in the place and get a cheaper rate. Here is the link. http://www.resortquest.com/parkcity/...yGroupID=26571
I'd like to see a fairly large group go in on these places, because that's the only way they become affordable.
What do you folks think? I'd really like to go for either the town lift or historic district location myself, but I'm not going to book a four BR house by myself so any suggestions or feedback is welcome. |

| Re: The ski trip is on! Current Utah weather conditions:
Parley's Canyon: Closed
Little Cottonwood Canyon: Closed
Provo Canyon: Closed
8 people are currently trapped in Provo Canyon due to an avalanche
And the rest of my family is trapped at the cabin since you can get down either of the two optional canyons. Lol
And just in case that doesn't get you excited, there is so much snow in the valley that I had go 20 mph in a 55 and then I had to make a 6 point turn into my driveway so I could get a straight on running start in my front wheel drive car and barrel over a good 6 inches of snow at 10 mph before hitting the brakes to stop. |

| Re: The ski trip is on! Blizzard, white out conditions, avalanche threats, etc. That's the bad news. The good news is the day AFTER a day like this, it's perfect snow, if you are in to that. Me-I'd like to move in with you in AZ lol. |

I've been on both, and Utah powder is better IMHO. |
