| Allright JC sailors, here is the plan.... Weather permitting, lets do this booze cruise Thursday afternoon. Meet at Sneaky Petes on Lake Lewisville at.....oh......howzabout 4pm ? I'll be either at the bar (big surprise there) or on the outside patio wearing a greyish- green baseball cap with a yellow fish emblem. Does that schedule work? I'm flexible time wise. You all know where Sneaky Pete's is, right? It is kind of a booger to find if you don't so go here: http://www.sneakypetesonline.com/location.htm *** Important! *** Do me a favor. Send me a private message and we can swap cell numbers. That way, if we are a no-go, I can let you know. The wx might skunk this cruise. No need to bring beer or anything else. Feel free to bring bikini girls. All my bikini girl and hottie flight attendant friends are unfortunately working that day. I would also take a water resistant wind breaker. And try to avoid wearing black rubber soled shoes as they leave skid marks on the deck. We will either take my Catalina 30' or my buddy Randy's 31' Beneteau. [Randy is also a A&P mechanic in case we break down!] Don't know how to sail? No worries! If you can fly a plane and hold a heading you'll do fine. There is a 30% chance of thunderstorms that afternoon though due to an approaching cold front. Hope for the best. |

| Wow, It is rolling dogs out here in DFW! [Rolling dogs is a term used by windsurfers in the Columbia River Gorge describing conditions so windy, that dogs will be blown over and sent rolling down the street.] Actually went out late last night, on an unplanned impromptu cruise on my buddy's boat. Was too windy to sail but he wanted to motor over to sneaky petes to get beer and food, [He ran out of beer.] Then I made him stay awhile longer because it was kareoke night. We stayed for a while and motored back around 11pm in hellacious winds. Waves were slamming us and water was spraying over the bow....and us. It was kind of spooky being the only ones on a rough dark giant lake late at night. It was kind of like that show "Deadliest Catch." anyway.... The wind is even worse today. Gusts will be over 40mph. Too much wear on the boat.....as well it's occupants. Also, approaching cold front will trigger thunderstorms around 5pm. The work & danger to fun ratio has been exceeded. Lets try this another time! |
