Nah, I think I'll pass---anything over 3,000 is overkill.

Ha...I ain't falling for that trick again. I am a shellback! We missed a beer day by two days, we pulled into the U.A.E. after 43 days of doign circles in the gulf. On a side note, our X.O. (17 years) was a shellback....God was that fun watching him.... But Baby Huey......I almost got sick.

I'm a shellback . . . but the big ol' chief with the grease on his beer belly and a cherry in the belly button . . .YUCK! Fortunately not eveyone had to eat the cherry, so I avoided it, but some did not fare so well. I did learn how to make a shelale(sp?) though and wogs revenge the night before was a blast!

Ahem, back to the business at hand. In my professional opinion, I recommend one of Royal Caribbean's 3-4 day Baja cruises (leaving out of LA). for this group. Logistically and financially, it just makes more sense, plus they're not very expensive, and people can get to LA easy enough. They are party cruises though! Last year we had a business meeting on one and everyone looked pretty hung over in the morning meetings. Not me though...Well there was that one night when I got invited to the captain's table, and that gorgeous Norwegian captain.::::sidetracked again:::::...as I was saying, the 3-4 day Baja cruises on Royal Caribbean are far more affordable for young pilots than a 7-day Alaska cruise. Plus ya'll might get sick of one another on a 7-day cruise!

Makes sense to me . . . then maybe Seggy and BP could make it

but I'm sure we won't get sick of one another though . . . generally we don't want to leave Vegas

so, let's get the chatter up and going again.... are we going to try for a 4 day baja or carribean or do we want to go all out on a 7 day somewhere/something cruise?

doug and I are totally up for one whatever it may be.

Since we haven't been on Royal Carribean yet, i think that boat might be the most fun to try next!

I'll know in the next week or two what any vacation possibilities look like at the new job. I'm down for either the 4 or 7 day. I usually prefer vacationing to warmer destinations but if it's during the summer time, Alaska could be a nice break from the Phoenix summer.

OK Winnie and I still would like to do this, but I have less control of my schedule now. I would prefer to do a 7 day Alaska cruise on RC. I'll find out which week in August I can have vacation OK? If you have a preference for a week, put it up here . . . or should we get serious and do a poll?

HIGHLY recommend the Alaska cruise. We did the inside passage this past August and it was amazing. We were on Princess...another nice cruise line.

Alec...where was the free fishing offer over the summer???!!!! Man, that would have been a blast!

I've always wanted to go on a cruise...and I love warm weather. I'm gonna vote for a 3/4 day thing since I won't want to use up all my vacation...especially if I ever want a chance of getting to NJC in Vegas.

I think that would be most people's problem with taking a 7 day cruise, although a group of pilots could probably pull it off since you can trade and finagle your schedules. My schedule is unpredictable with starting a new job this year, plus needing to keep my schedule open for unexpected industry perks and travel. I doubt that I could commit to a 7-day cruise this year, but if that's what you guys want to do, then go for it! Alaska cruises are awesome.

What ever you decide to do NOT take Carnival! It's a motel 6 on floats with a buffet. Blah!

I've also done a Royal Caribbean and loved it. It was a 7 day Western Caribbean with stops in Panama, Costa Rica, and Belize. Good cruise line for people under "blue hair" age.

I think it is a great idea and I just wanted to know the dates and how much too. I have never been on a cruise but would love to go.

Disagree. It all depends on what ship you go on. We went a Mexican cruise in 2004 on a new ship (Carnival Pride) and it was one of the nicest ships I've ever been on. I'm sure there are some dogs out there...just be picky.

I am in...I could use a 4 day cruise before I head to Sweden next summer. And it would be great seeing you all there. Just let me know!

Count me in for a 3 or 4 day Baja cruise. (First year at Colgan, so no vacation this year....)

I live in Tampa and have went on 5 cruises in the past 2 years. All were Carnival, except 1. The other one was Royal Caribbean. I have been on the Fantasy (out of MSY) and and Inspiration (3 times out of TPA). I can tell you, cruises are make or break depending on the crowd your with. I can also say the more singles the better. :-) The Inspiration just got a complete makeover and it is really nice.

I would love to see a JC cruise out of TPA or MIA later this year. So, that's why I bumped this thread. If we cruise out of TPA, you all can sleep at my house!

I am open for a 4 day cruise. I don't have enough vacation time for a 7 day. Right not the schedule for the Inspiration has it leaving on a Thurs and back on a Mon (to Mexico and back). Prices are around $300/pp double if you get the right cruise.

If we can get enough people I'll spearhead the operation if it is out of TPA. Sept or Oct would be perfect (minus the hurricane chances).

If you are coming to Alaska, you better start booking. The first ship is in Seattle and on its way up

With interline rates, you can book at the last minute (depending on availability)...no worries there!

we haven't figured out what we're doing yet

We can't do anything in October since that's near NJC time....
