| Alright guys, I got long layovers in Keywest tommorow night (Friday 11/2) and Albany, NY on Saturday (11/3). Anyone going to be around, even get a beer perhaps?

| Old Skool | Doh, I live in ALB but won't be here Saturday. Any other days you have a layover here though, let me know. We shall get beers. How is it jumpseating down to EYW? My buddies and I just planned a weekend there in February. Need to decide if I should just eat it and buy a ticket.

| Well, I'll be in ALB 12 sat to 12 sunday, but that probably won't fit your schedule. EYW is a tough jumpseat. We are weight restricted in the 700 going in there due to the short runway. If you had to get down there I would probably eat it OR jumpseat to miami and either drive or try to jumpseat on Eagle since they fly the ATR. Maybe an Eagle guy can help you out.

| Old Skool | What's it like taking the -700 into a 4800 foot runway? How tight is it in normal operations?

| It is a tough approach. There is usually always a decent crosswind. The goal is to get it on the runway and get it stopped, so, full reverse and a good bit of brakes. It will stop, just don't expect a smooth landing. Last CP I was with really crashed the plane on there, but he made the next to last turnoff . I'm still going to give you a shout next time I am in BGR!

Plus we provide plenty of runway to grease her in. And a couple of turnoffs that are good for betting drinks on. 33@K is 3300' and 33@L is 4800'. It was surprising how many did not make Lima when if they didn't make it in EYW they would be of the end.

| Well, if you've got the runway, you might as well use it. No sense heating the brakes and giving a pax an uncomfortable ride. EYW is the LAST place that we fly that I would want to blow an engine in. By V1 you are staring right at the departure threshold numbers.
