| Old Skool | I'm going to be in Memphis next Sunday, the 30th, and wanted to know if those of you from that area wanted to get together for a late lunch or something. I think Kellwolf is going to try to meet up with me. I know there are more of you guys around that area though and I would love a chance to say hi! Let me know what sounds good to you. I was thinking possibly around 2pmish?! |

| I might be able to make it. Depends on where and when you guys meet up.

Did you know that your former instructor, A.W., signed on with Mesaba?

| Old Skool | I don't know a lot of details, I was hoping you guys could help with some. I'd probably need to do a late lunch/ early dinner kind of thing sometime around 2 or 3pm. I was thinking the guys who actually lived there could suggest a place!? |

| Where will you be? That will help narrow down the field.

| That puts in you in the river. ![]() I guess you mean downtown. Lots and lots of places downtown, but I haven't spent much time there in years. The Rendezvous is famous, if you want the BBQ thing. Maybe Kellwolf has a greater variety of suggestions.

There's a ton of places downtown, but I-40 could be anywhere from downtown to out in Cordova by the mall. Lemme know for sure where you'll be, and I'll narrow it down to a few choices.

| You could hit the Cozy Kitchen (pretty sure that is the name); it's up there around Danny Thomas Blvd (Safe during the day)... Or just roll down to the Peabody or if you don't have to fly, the Flying Saucer has the best beer selection in town.. ![]() |

We can't do the Flying Saucer because I do have to drive and we have one in downtown Little Rock that I've been to a million times. Not to mention... beer=yucky! ![]()

![]() You could take a 90-minute riverboat sightseeing tour from 1430-1600 on Memphis Riverboats for $18. If you're up for top quality steak, you should consider The Butcher Shop Steakhouse on Front Street. I also like Buckley's on Union Ave. If you haven't tried a Churrascaria (Brazilian steakhouse) before, and if you have a big appetite, you might like Texas de Brazil. It's a meat lover's dream come true. (Oops, looks like it's just a buffet on Sunday, Noon-1500.) If you have a big appetite, but you're more in the mood for a 4-lb burger, check out Big Foot Lodge. If you can finish the Sasquatch Burger in 60 minutes, it's free. The fried Dill Pickle is an interesting appetizer. Don't bother with the Prime Rib. The Pier Restaurant has a pretty good view of the river, but it's been a while since I've been there, so I can't vouch for the food. It's probably better for a romantic dinner than a lunch with friends. Dan McGuinness Pub on Peabody Place is the only authentic Irish pub in Memphis, and they'll serve up your pint of Guinness with free wireless. McAlister's Deli has great sandwiches, loaded potatoes, and super salads, but they're famous for their Sweet Tea. Dyer's Burgers on Beale Street has an interesting history, and a delicious burger. It's doubtful that you've ever had a burger cooked the way they cook 'em. Which brings us to Beale Street -- what else needs to be said? .

| Old Skool | Ummm...Tony, I think you should come and pick the place!!!! Everything sounds yummy! No McAlister's though. I can eat that here anytime. I kinda want to try some local joint. |

| But not much of a food menu selection.

| Senior Member | Hhhmmm I might be up for it if I am in town considering when I am in town I have pretty much nothing to do. Hey Taylor, quick question, are you talking about Amy? (in reguards to the instructor who was picked up by Mesaba) |
| |
| | #22 |
| Old Skool | Heh, I think Tony forgot most of use don't fly for Purple. ![]() I pretty much echo everyting tgrayson said. Huey's is actually one of my favorite burger places. The down side to being a Sunday is we live in the South. A lot of places (even the ones on Beale) might be closed.

| Yes, I got you and MSUDAWG confused. You'd recommended Amy to him last year, but he never flew with her.

| Hey, I'm happy with Krystal's. I didn't want y'all to wind up in the alley salivating for ribs only to find the doors locked, so I thought I'd point out a few places nearby. (OK, so I got a little carried away.) Go to Dyers Burgers -- very unique, and easy on the budget. Quote:
