| Big Chief's Woman | In an effort to do something a little different for a july meet and greet... i'd like to see if we have any phx peeps or outside phx peeps that know how to operate a ski boat and/or know how to set it up to waterski, wakeboard or tube? I'm thinking of renting a sport boat for 1/2 a day on one of the fridays, saturdays or sundays in july as a bday present to myself... i know how to pilot the boat for the most part but i do not know anything about waterskiing or attaching an innertube or what not for add'l fun. the beer aboard would have to be minimal unless we have a designated boat driver for the ride back (no joke), and i'm thinking total picnic/swimming type of morning....yes, it'd have to be morning as it'd probably be just too hot in the afternoon. other idea besides a sport boat is a pontoon boat because we can put more people on it...but it's certainly not "as" fast, that's for sure. cost for rental of the sport boat is $375 for half day..we could put down the deposit and take on most of the cost but we may ask for help with providing beer/beverages and food to keep us from starving or dehydrating while out on the water. anyone ever been on lake pleasant before? |

| Big Chief's Woman | awww poo... i didn't do enough research and hit ALL the pages... you can't rent on weekends between april and september....that means it'd probably have to be either a friday or a monday or something during the week...that stinks! |

| Sounds like fun! I'm familiar w/ boat operation (lots of experience at lake mead) including wakeboarding, tubing, etc and will volunteer to be designated boat driver if needed. I'm available Sundays and Mondays in July. If it goes into August it's a no go for me tho...I'll keep checking back on this thread for updates... |

| Lake Pleasant is a fun lake. Only thing is that on the weekends the water can be really rough for any water skiing or wakeboarding. Tubing is pretty good on that lake. Its nearly impossible to rent on the weekends there. You might try Bartlett lake too. Its smaller but just as fun. |

| Queen Creek is not centralized but Desert Ridge is!? Desert Ridge is easily a 40 mile drive from my house! Nowhere in SDL or Tempe is sufficient? Even if you live in Glendale, Tempe is quite a bit easier to get to! |

| Big Chief's Woman | August, plan tempe...but someone has to find us a place to go (that will also allow kids)... we just don't have enough time to plan for the 30th (it's next monday), i'm just gonna do with DR again... so July 30th, 7pm, Malee's at Desert Ridge (restaurant). somebody count up the bodies & make a reservation cuz i'm gonna be out of town till next sunday and will probably not get a chance to make reservations or finalize things... |
