A) How far is this place from PHX? If it's not too far, I could probably rent a car and make it.

B) Is this place way out of the way, or is there hotels around that would be cheap?

C) I can come if A and B work out!

It's maybe about 15 minutes from KPHX. You don't need to rent a car if you want to come, Sky Harbor is mostly on my way to the venue, and I'd be happy to give you a ride if you wanted to join everyone.

I'm not sure about the specific hotels around it, but it is Scottsdale, so I'm sure they're not that cheap. But once again, I could give a ride in the direction back towards the airport, or another JC member could probably give you a ride in another direction (as we come from all over the valley). PM me if you'll need a ride, it's really not a problem...

Are we talking about Desert Ridge Marketplace on the 101 and Tatum? That's definitely not 15 minutes from the airport!

I will also volunteer a ride as I will have to pass the airport on the way there, it is zero skin off of my back.

Are you saying it's more, or less? I'll say, 10-20, depending on traffic. Probably closer to 10 with the traffic loads around 6:30-7:00pm.

All I know is it's about 35 minutes for me... no traffic.

101 and Tatum is 20.8 miles according to google maps. That's 25+ minutes.

Unless there is some other Desert Ridge... I'm thinking of the mall like thing off the 101 in N Phx

Yeah, you're thinking of the right place. I didn't bother looking up how far it was... just estimating by how long it takes me to get to the airport, and how long it takes me to get to Desert Ridge.

I'm sure most hotels around the airport have a commuter rate $40-50 a night. I know a lot of SWA dudes use the sleep inn so I'd try there first.

As for the 30th I don't think I'll be back yet from my commute home, but I'm looking forward to hopefully Tempe in August.

I don't have an overnight there, just the night off work. I have an appointment that ends at 3:00 PM, and there is a SWA flight that leaves at 3:50 PM. The next flight would get me in a little late, but as long as people are going out for a drink or two afterwards I'd probably make the trip out there. Things are very fluid at the moment, so I'll need to do some checking and make some arrangements.

I'm looking for an excuse to get to Phoenix...

Hell, I just flew over KPHX yesterday, and it was about 4 minutes until I got to the 101 just east of the I-17, and that was at 130 Kts

Oh man Max.....if you pull out the sweater I might just have to find a way to be there.

There is no way though I am missing the August one. I can't even imagine how excited Cam is going to be that he doesn't have to drive up to Scottsdale.

Ok everyone,

I went ahead and counted up a rough estimate from the people that said they would try to make it, and made a reservation.

7:00pm, tomorrow night (30th) at Malee's at Desert Ridge (101 and Tatum)

The reservation is under "Jetcareers". See you all there!
