My schedule is pretty flexible so the date doesn't matter that much to me. I do want some input from people though of when they would be able to go so we can mutually agree on a date.

Kristie: Not September, November, December.
Eastbayk: October (Might conflict with NJC)
Kellwolf: Last week in September. (Too soon now) First week of December.
Bumblebee: Early December.

First week of December or sometime in October (although it might conflict with NJC) sounds good to me so far. It would be nice to get some more input from other people who would like to attend.

Brian- a lot of respect for really trying to put this together. It shows that you are really taking the initiative to get this thing going. That said, I really want to go. I am going to do my best to make it. I just can't throw out a date because I don't know what tomorrow looks like for me. Like I said in the past, I'll try to jump in with whatever you guys put together.

I think if it was the first weekend in december, we might be able to make it. that is doug's bday weekend and the weekend before his final vacation for the year.

altho guarantees can't be made since we don't have his dec schedule yet.

I guess we'll go ahead and make the first week of December the official time frame that it could take place. Now I'll leave it to you travel experts to decide which day it is best to travel and you theme park experts to decide which day would be best to go (kellwolf?).

Also, Costco says for around 80 bucks a two park access ticket that is good for a period of three months. Maybe we can also find out if they offer group rates.

Well, if you're looking for shorter lines, not a weekend. Since it's fairly dead that time period, the weekends are when the locals flock to the parks to check out the Xmas decorations. Going during the week, there's like NO lines for anything.

Check the restrictions on that, though. And it's possible (more than likely PROBABLE) that's a FL resident special. If so, you'll either need a FL drivers license or utility bill to get that price.

Thanks. So we've now narrowed it down to December 3rd-7th. We need to make this a two day event to make it worthwhile.

I don't know because you just purchase them at Costco like any other item for the $80 plus tax. When you get to the park you go into their office and take a photo and give them your address so they can make you the 3 month pass. Considering you already paid for the ticket I don't think they'd make you pay extra at the park. If it is not restricted then we could always go that way if people feel it is cheaper.

Our family is doing a Disney World trip early-mid December. If we are there at the same time, I'd love to meet up.

Sounds like a FL resident thing. They offer that 3 month pass fairly often in O-town, and you can buy it at more places than just Costco. Keep in mind, you did say you give them your address. I'd be interested to know if anyone without a FL address has tried to do that.

I had family over from Brazil early this year and they bought the pass with no problems.

The event will be held on December 4th and 5th (Tues and Wed). If enough people would rather do it on the 5th and 6th (Wed and Thurs) then we can do that. The event will be located at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Tickets may be purchased directly by those attending but we can also look into this $80/Both Parks/3 months option. It is still early to get a list of people going but whoever is interested is encouraged to start making arrangements. Feel free to add any suggestions or ask any questions.

Okay, I was thinking the $80 ticket was for DISNEY, that's why I was thinking it was a FL res thing. That's pretty much normal price for Universal/IOA. Back in the day, an annual pass for both parks was $79. Now it's $189, but it's for TWO years.

Tickets are $86 and some change if you buy 'em with two days notice on Universal's web site, and they're good for both parks for 7 consecutive days.

I might be there depending on my Dec schedule.

I think Vegas is gonna tap out all my reserve cash, so I'll probably have to bow out of this one. I am planning a Disney/Universal trip with the wife and kiddo for next year, though. Actually be able to have a good time down there with that nifty CA pay.

Now that NJC is over, I'd like to start getting down names of people who might make it. Hopefully people didn't go broke in Vegas.

I might be late on this, but I would be interested as well....

we could even take a 172 up there (would be from S FL/KLNA). I can rent one for like 80 bux an hour, can fit 4 ppl in it, could be a nice little trip. either KMCO, KSFB or KORL

Well, I've never planned an event before so I don't really know what other details to work out. If someone could assist me it'd be great.

How many are on your list now Brian? are most living in o-town or outside and need a hotel? how many would need a hotel room and would they want their own room or to bunk up with others?

Last time I went there I stayed in a hotel on Universal blvd. a little after Wet n' Wild. They have shuttles to Universal and also a nice continental breakfast. I'll find out which one it was and get back to you guys.

I don't really mind where we stay. Let's just try to stay out of International Drive.
