Default DFW / Waco, 1st W.E. of May?

I will be in Texas the first weekend of May. I will be in Waco area though. I would like to see if anyone would be willing to drive down on Saturday and do a meet and greet at a local place off of 35. Since this will be my only opportunity for a while to be in the great country of Texas, I would like to try and put a face with as many of my "extended family" as possible.

There is a whole bunch of them built into an old warehouse near downtown. We like to eat at Ninfas. Good texmex. Some decent bars right in there too.

*Update*
I have found out that on Saturday the 5th of May in Temple will be the Central Texas Air show. It runs from 1-5 PM I think it would be cool to center a M&G around an air show maybe followed up by food and drink after. Or if you would rather get on your way back home, it ends early enough to make the drive.
Here is the address for the air show details. http://www.centraltexasairshow.com/

Let me know if you are interested.
Also I may be in DFW at ATP and skymates on the 4th.

If you PM me and we can exchange contact information

I'll be the guy at the show in the oversized flip-up sunglasses, goofy hat, funnel cake all over my face and sunburned (...err, wait, that doesn't really narrow it down. )

You got it Stan. It would be great to meet up with you.
If not likely for Saturday check out the skymates or ATP forums. I may be up there for part of the morning for tours. Might be able to make time for lunch or even just a quick "hey"

Just the question, will you have a chew can ring in your back pocket? That might separate you out.

I really hope I can still scrape some money together to be able to go. One of my friends just hit a very rough patch and I wiped the savings out to help!

You have a couple basic kinds of airshow attendees:
  • The Goofy Bastard - fanny pack, lilly white, video camera running continuously
  • The Biker Rednecks - They can be found in the beer tent wearing lots of cutoff denim and guts.
  • Geeky Pilots - usually found telling aircraft owners something about their aircraft.
  • That Guy in the Flight Suit - and Aviators. He's not flight crew, he's not ground crew, but he's out for action!

Others?

Nice.
I like the list.
My sister will be there so it opens up a new category
  • The Single Mom - Usually identified by the line of kids in tow, and the "needy" look on their face when they approach the pilots.

Um not yet. This will be happening the first week in May. And I will be making sure anyone interested in meeting up knows when I will be there.

DAbert.....are you still heading up to DFW first w/e of May? My TDY I was origianally scheduled for has been swapped to another location and therefore I won't be leaving until late May. My wife and I were talking about going down there for the first weekend of May so she can see first hand what Skymates has to offer and I need to chat with RYAN again. Gotta see about draggin' FROGGY out if he's willing to get out into the public eye :-)
Who's all gonna be around DFW that weekend? Anyone up for a meet?

My plan is to be in DFW Friday, Thinking of taking the niece and nephews to six flags after my morning visit to Skymates and ATP. I figure I will be to the airport around 10 or 11.
I am also hoping to talk people into coming down to Temple on Saturday to catch the Central Texas Air show with me. It looks like a good time. Maybe get food and or drink afterwards.

Ok all. I am bumping this to the top as it is getting closer. I look forward to meeting all that I can. I don't care if it is the morning show at Skymates or ATP or if you come down to Temple for the air show.
Please let me know if you want to meet up one of those times.
PM me if you are going to be either free or cheep and I will give you my number or you can give me yours.
Oh and Froggy.. the offer still stands.
Hope to see you there.
