Default DFW Meet n' Greet 3/24/07

Any interest in a DFW get together? The weather is getting warmer and I don't really know a lot of people here in town; I just moved here last year. Anyway, I'd be interested in getting together for drinks or planning a cook out one of these weekends when the wx is forecast to be nice. Nothing more than a chance to meet some folks in the industry and some of the knuckle heads trying to break in, such as myself. Hell I just really want an excuse to stand over the grill, drink a beer, and maybe get a game of football going.

What say ye?

I am planning a trip to Temple May 3 to may 6. I was planning on posting about a M&G in Waco for that Saturday. If your interested, I will be putting up the post soon.

I'm here in town pretty much every weekend. I'm still finishing my commercial stuff while working full time. I was thinking some time in late March or early April. Maybe just an afternoon cookout. I'm in Ft. Worth, but we could set something the middle of the metroplex. There is a really nice park in Arlington on the Trinity. I played volleyball there a couple of times, but I can't remember the name right now. I want to say it was off of Green Oaks and Collins???

We've been toying with the idea for the last couple months. Joe (txpilot aka stonecold) will be down some time in early March. JDE is coming down for recurrent and will be able to do something on 9 April I believe.

You can't go wrong with beer, bbq, and football.

R2F, Capbob, ryanmickg, lots of others. Are any dates better than others?

I've never met you Seggy, but you look like a pretty big dude. I might have to be on your team as well. Frog, you will obviously have to go to your PAS and sign a dangerous activity form for the weekend. We wouldn't want anything happening to a future butter bar without receiving the propper safety briefing first.

Well, it's unofficially official...I'll be there from 04 Mar, until ??? (supposed to be 10 days), and the only day they give us off is Sunday. I don't know what my schedule is other than that.

So, once I get flight itinerary, etc., I'll update here and we'll figure something out.

TX... oops S.C.

No worries: I dropped ROTC last week! I'm turning in my reflective belt tomorrow.... .

You can count on me to give the hydration briefing. I carry handouts of the powerpoint everywhere I go...

Cool Re: DFW Meet n' Greet

I'm IN!!!

Fort Worth Side would work best for me but anywhere in the DFW area is fine.

I've got a busy March coming up but I've got the first two weeks of April open right now.

I'm in down town Ft. Worth and can offer up a guest bedroom if anybody is in town and needs it. Starting to sound like the first weekend in April might be best. Spread the word and let me know. I think that park in Arlington is called River Legacy if we make this a bbq outing.

And Frog... what happened with ROTC? I thought you had a field training slot?

I'll keep a look out for when dates firm up. If I'm not TDY somewhere, I'll do my best to make it.

Not that it matters since I wont be there until the first weekend in May, but Temple is where I will be staying.

I just noticed Maredsous in RyanMicG's avtar. Oh man, that's some good stuff. Feel free to bring some to share. I live down the street from the Flying Saucer in FW, so my whole beer drinking world has really opened up over the last year because of that place. Well that an my bud who bring back Bavaria from Costa Rica all the time. Damn I'm getting thirsty.
