She even knows I'm a lowly freight dog, and still hasn't run away!

Not lowly. Noble my friend.

I flew with a former AMF captain a few weeks ago and he had mad skillz.

Could. You want to call the 'regular' hotel there?

Driving -- ok. Airport -- bad juju.

i doubt the "regular" hotel has rooms open at the "regular" rate!

plus, it would be more fun being down IN the action cuz getting a taxi and/or drivign the strip (esp since it'll be closed) is going to be near impossible!

Yeah, we're probably going to stay on the strip, too. I thought about driving down and staying in our crew apartment, but its up in North Vegas, and I have zero interest in trying to drive around there.

I haven't booked anything yet, because I've been watching prices on hotels.com for places on the strip for the past week, and they've actually been going down.

yeah.. i'm seeing some $240-$500 prices... excalibur looks ok at $245 but that's still awfully high for one night....then again, maybe i'm just cheap! haha

Well, if you want to split something, we'd be cool with that. Up to you. I think we're staying on the strip regardless. Last year I sat in my empty apartment and went to bed at 10pm on NYE... have to make up for my lameness this year!

Excalibur is down to $227, Luxor and Aladdin are $300, NY-NY is $339.

I'm probably going to book something late tonight when I get home, so if you're interested in splitting and have any preference, let me know. I think we're planning on staying both Saturday and Sunday nights.

OK, we have a hotel now, but she booked it since I was waiting until the last possible minute to see if the prices kept going down and she was worried we wouldn't get one. Now she won't tell me which one, just that it's on the strip! Doh!

So I'll be there from Saturday morning until Monday night... if anyone's going to be around and wants to meet up, send me a PM and I'll give you my cell #.
