| Big Chief's Woman | so, it's close to the end of the year and typically around now, we (regional/major pilots) start planning for our mandatory vacations because we have to have vacation bids in by i think, what, mid january? Anyways, wanted to see if anyone was interested in taking (or trying to take) the same week off so we can all meet up for a cruise next year? I'm thinking we could make it easy and go on a hawaiian cruise, western carribean or alaska cruise....heck, maybe even do oktoberfest in Stuttgart for a week next year? who knows... altho cruises are good because if you have non-rev benefits then you can save literally hundreds of dollars and have friends/family cabins (depending on the cruise). thought it might be kinda fun.. esp if we can all get the time off at the same time! who'd be up for it? |

| When would this be? Our vacation bids are already done... but we can vacation trade with vacation open time or with other pilots who would rather your vacation month. Right now I have the week of Christmas off, which is very lucrative (and I'd like it off!). It is something we might be interested in, but it of course is time and $$ dependent. Sounds like a great idea though!

| Old Skool | I will give you another suggestion if you decide to tour Alaska, ride the ferry from Bellingham to Haines or Skagway, it might be cheaper, and its still fun. You get to see things that you normally dont from a Cruise ship. The only problem is the hours of some of the arrivals .

| Old Skool | Kristie, You know I love you guys, and I spend a lot of time with a bunch of JCers on a regular basis already; but going on a cruise with ya'll would be just a little TOO strange for me. I mean half the website is already going to be at my wedding, so I need to have a little bit of space between here and the real world ![]() |

| Big Chief's Woman | we really don't have an idea of "when" yet...i just know vacation bids are coming up for doug and if some already have vacation times set up - let us know what they are so we can try and match you.. or you match us.. so we can all go cruising together... at least, that's the thought... or we could all just fly over to germany for oktoberfest together.. haha |

| Old Skool | Hmm. Ironically, I was gonna bid for time in Sept for vacation next year. 'Course I only get three days off instead of 5, but I can slide it into my existing days off to get 5 total....

| Big Chief's Woman | 3 days off??? you don't even get a week? |

| Old Skool | Not with my piddling amount of longevity here. Some guys in my class only got 2 days since they took their checkride a few weeks later than I did. According to the company, I've only been employed since 5/12. I was an "independent contractor" from 3/6-5/11.

| Agent Smith | How about a big meet 'n greet in Stuttgart for Canstatter Volksfest? I could probably start working on a table reservation.

| Remember, many of us are still on regional pay! How about a cruise to the carribean in hurricane season? ![]() I'm only half kidding, the rates are actually great then. I think it would be a blast to meet everyone and my wife and I have been wanting to go on a cruise. How about cruise in August or September?
