Default MIA/FLL area...

Hey guys/gals I'll be in town for the next week, flying out of Opa Loca, just curious if anybody wants do do an early dinner, or something. I have a show-time of 1915 M-T, Friday I don't show until 2200, so if anybody's in the area let me know and we'll figure out a duty-friendly meet-up.

Hmm, Opa-Locka is kinda in ghetto territory. Not exactly worth eating around the airport, unless you wanna go for McDonalds. There are a bunch of other places in Miami and Fort Lauderdale I could tell ya about. You should check out the "graveyard" there. they have some pretty cool birds out there.

I can't complain...of course, every pilot does, but nobody listens, right?

I like the change and not having a set run or airplane. It keeps me on my toes. Dispatch is, for the most part, good to us. I defintely have it pretty good. I've been getting quite a bit of OT lately, so life is good.

Yeah, OPF isn't the nicest area. I am in Don Shula's hotel, though, and have a rental car, so I've been exploring some. Gonna get some Cuban food tomorrow. I was just curious if anybody's around here.

If you want good authentic cuban, you without a doubt have to eat in little Havana. A good place to go is La Carreta. Most people don't speak english in there (but they'll help ya with the order), but hey, thats a sign of what makes it good, right?

I got the addy and # for u if you want.

Thanks, Nole...I'll check it out. I speak a little Spanish, so hopefully I'll be good to go.
