Oh, the "put your fingers in the Gom Jabbar box?" They've been doing that for a while. It's a biometric reader. SUPPOSEDLY, the first time you use your ticket, the machine takes an imprint of your fingers and codes it into the file associated with the mag stripe on the ticket. I have yet to see it work flawlessly. Most of the time, it beeps annoyingly, and the person at the turnstile hits a button and waves you through. It started out as a security thing for annual passholders (lots of pass fraud in Orlando), and in their infinite wisdom, Disney decided to use it on multi-day passes as well.

So, I have Michigan_flyer, h46bubba & JT....you guys bringing the wives/kids? Doug won't be able to make it.. loads are too full and apparently, the jumpseats are gone...I've got a few other people from the pilotwife sites that will be joining us too along with my sister & possibly brother-in-law (not a pilot).

If your bringing the kids, PM me the total number in your party so i can make sure we have enough seats for everyone.I'll check back on later tonight and make the reservation then under "Taylor".

Thanks!

So what is the official time/place for this deal? I have to give a flight lesson at ORL until about 4:30. I can probably make it at about 5 or 5:30. I might be bringing my girlfriend - not sure yet.

I hope Disney Marketplace and Downtown Disney are the same place ...

That place is growing SO fast.

Downtown Disney = Disney Marketplace, Pleasure Island and West Side. It's kinda like saying "What time does Disney World close?" when they mean Magic Kingdom.

Well we got there at 4, met H64bubba and his wife Lilith. Kristie finally showed up at 4:45!!! MichiganFlyer joined us at 5:30 - we made room.

Traffic and weather were a factor though, not to mention getting the kid ready. Kristie and her sister look A LOT alike.

Captain Jack's is typical Disney, ok food, rushed atmosphere and very pricey.

Next lets pick one of those sidewalk cafes in East or Central Orlando. Quieter and not so hard on the credit card

All of you - it was a pleasure to meet you

The MCO meeeting went well. John's right about picking a place that won't put a HUGE dent in the wallet next time! It was nice to see Kristie again and meet her sister. Doug, you were missed. Glad to finally meet the notorious Eagle nemisis John Tenny. If I see any pilots that need to be rehabed back into the greater non-pilot population, I'll send them your way John. Michigan_Flyer, it was great to meet you as well. Doug and Krisie's niece is a little cutie! We also had the first JC the Next Generation meeting. Though they were more interesed in the ducks and running around the restraunt. I guess the next meeting will be JC LAS in October. Looking forward to that!

Hey Hey! I'm finally back from MCO, had a great time with my sister and little niece...and REALLY enjoyed meeting some of the folks from here.. JT looks JUST like his photo and his gracie (young one) is the cutest thing since sliced bread (pretty close to Julia's cuteness), it was great to see howard again and finally meet his wife Winona (Lilith) & son Brendan & Steve (Michiganflyer).

Altho the weather was a bit of a damper and the prices of the restaurant even more, i had a great time and even suggested meeting at Mcdonalds next time! hahahaha

definately somewhere off disney property, next time!

btw - John, I still have that million dollars you gave me.. one of these days, i'll spend it! hahaha

I'll put some photos up in a day or two.. looking forward to liliths photos as they'll probably be much better than mine!

Sometimes I think she's typing, but her fingers aren't even moving, it's that clock a tic tickin' away! Keeps the cats up late!

This is how you cure the itching to go to Disney.

Stand in a line at the airport for 35 minutes, arrange for someone to walk by in a Mickey Mouse costume, have someone tickle you as you scream "Weeeeee!" for 40 seconds then purchase a $1 hotdog and a coke, give the concession worker a $20 and tell her to keep the change.

Repeat.

35 minutes? What is that, Carosel of Progress? Dude, you got wait at least 45. Oh, and that hot dog and coke is going up to $25 next time. Now, someone walking by in a Mickey suit, I might be able to arrange that one......
