Default Oshkosh

Any one planning on attending Oshkosh this summer?
I plan on going for the opening day. It will be my first time ever. Already booked my hotel room.

You will have a blast.

Also, if you ever get a chance to fly in, do it. It's quite an experience.

Unfortunately, probably won't be there this year.

I always keep it in the back of my mind, but have never made it as of yet. I would like to go this year...we'll see what happens.

We'll be there. The school my dad teaches at has a booth there, and I've only missed it once in the past 5 years. We drive it, it's about 2 or 2 1/2 hours from my parents farm, so we haven't had to do the hotel thing.

If you can, give it more than one day. There's SO much there, it's easy to miss something if you're rushing because you know you've only got one day.

As long as it isn't 90+ degrees out, it's quite pleasant. Wisconsin summers are unpredictable, it can be 70 and beautiful, or over 90 and humid as Florida.

If I've got the time/money I'd love to fly over there. We'll see what happens.

I will be there again this year with a group from Kansas City. We all flew planes up together last year (met in Madison for lunch then flew over to OSH together), and camped all week. It was so much fun. The weather was mostly fantastic. We'll be there a day or two before opening day again (believe it starts on a Monday this year, will be going up either Saturday or Sunday) and staying well into the workweek (at least Weds or Thursday). Very much looking forward to it. It was more fun than I ever imagined and we're hoping to take a bigger group this year!

Would love to meet any jc'ers who are going.

I'll try make it out this year, considering I'm only an hour and a half away...by car. If/When I do it will probably be on Saturday or Sunday.

We'll see. I'm hoping to have a schedule bulked with students at that time, but if I have the time and money, I've always wanted to go. Sun N Fun is cool, but it ain't Oshkosh.

Round up 2 or 3, bring tents, and make it an extended lesson. Free airfare for you, mucho learning experience for them, and fun for all.

I would like to take a student or two into Sun N Fun or Oshkosh. It's definately a learning experience. Possibly the most terrified I've been of having a mid-air, but also one of the most memorable aviation moments so far. It's an experience I'd never trade and something I think every pilot should do at least once.

Oshkosh is awesome. My dad and I have gone for 12 years straight now...and I still find new things to do almost every year.

I'm going for the first three days. Don't know yet if we'll fly into the main deal or one of the nearby airports.

If anyone needs a hotel room for Oshkosh, let me know.
I reserved two rooms but it looks like I'm only going to need one, so I will be cancelling one, so if anyone wants it then send me a message and we can co-ordinate the details.

Just found out I will be heading up. I was going to be out of state, but that got cancelled, so I will be returning this year. We airplane camp usually (John's dad has a plane we camp by). Don't know for sure when we will head up, since he will have students at that point. Hope we can make more than one day. If we have a meet and greet day it would be great to put some faces with names.
