Boeing Open House - Seattle in September

JC would like to host a meet & greet at the Boeing Open House in Seattle this coming september.. yea, i know it's a long way off -> but if we get our butts in gear, we could get some good room rates or what not (just like we do for Network JC).

MikeC (Mpenguin) is going to look into getting us some *insider* tours (just like we did at the OC meet last year) and he knows WAY more about what will be going on at/during Open House weekend... Mike - wanna give a shot at what will be happening this year and/or what to expect??

If we host this open house.. how many of you are interested in attending?

I'd prolly be able to make it. Especially if it was on a weekend. It would be waaaay cool if it was at BFI. If it is, let me know, and maybe I could work out a UPS tour.

being the sole attendee last year besides Mike, I must say that it is well worth it. Got to stand just feet from the big iron.

I had 2 huge bags of posters and goodies about everything from the 737 to the new 7E7.

What are the dates for the open house? I will be back home (Seattle Tacoma) over break following summer quarter. I could prolly house one person.

The Boeing Open House takes place in the month of September, no date has been announced.

At the Boeing open house there are booths on all of the Boeing aircraft staffed with people that can answer your questions.

They allowed people on a 777 and self guided tours of the plant.

There were also booths from Honeywell, General Electric & other Boeing parts suppliers.

For me, the best was the booth on the 787/7E7 and a demo of the composite materials that will be used in the aircraft.

Well worth attending, if not just for the goodies that are given away.
