Default Second Annual JC Ski Trip

Okay, folks, time to start planning this thing. This time, I promise I will not get called away at the last minute to travel to Singapore. It's impossible because we aren't going to be going there this year.

So, I guess we need to figure out two things -- where and when. I know that some people were talking about Whistler, so if you want to do that, click on the Western Canada option.

Answer the polls, folks!

Yeah me and Emily are out again, I just got a contract for this indoor line and well, we're poor. We're in next year for serious!

Whistler is great, Tony, but if we could get back out to Park City that would be great too. The setup we had last year was sensational. Also, can we settle on dates ASAP so that those of us who have to bid schedules can get the time off?

Sadly I'm not allowed on skis right now.

(Or rollerblades, bikes, rollercoasters, and many other things.........)

Count me in for next year though!

Come on lets do it in UT. If you come I can take you for a plane ride. Have you ever been in a plane? What, No, are you serious? Oh you're missing out.

[/ QUOTE ]Having skied Big Sky, I'll second that ... it is pretty darn nice, more reasonably priced than a lot of other places we might go, and Montana is beautiful. Plus it has an airport (Bozeman) with a decent amount of service only a short drive away so it is fairly accessible to the non-revvers like me unlike some other places. (Especially those places when I might have to proceed through the "Gates of Hell" at B-61 and ride on a Mesa Dash 8!)

Back to Park City or Big Sky are both OK with me, and I could be persuaded in to other places as well, I'm sure. Just remember, keep it affordable!

Oh, and Kristie, you and Doug are expected to make an appearance this year!!!

Ok, well I haven't skied since my Sophomore year in HS. Didn't want to get hurt and ruin chance of me playing college football. Now that I am retired from football I am down for a ski weekend were I might try to get back on the slopes. No were near 100% sure I will make it but I put my votes in and we'll see what happens.

Only skiing you'll be doing in GF is cross country skiing. North Dakota is flat as a pancake.

Okay, guys. Well, we've got a tie between CO and UT. And to avoid any hanging chad nonsense, I'm just going to make an executive decision and go with CO. We did it in UT last year, and I figure we can move this thing around a bit.

Anyway, I'm going to start looking at things. So, how many of you can make it to CO in February of next year. That will let me know what kind of lodging to look for.

Looking forward to it!

I like replying to myself.

Here's what I'd like to do. Let's go for Breck on the weekend of February 25, 26, and 27.

Cool thing about Breck is that you've got four resorts right there -- Breck, Keystone, Copper and A-Basin. We're only going to be there for three days so we won't be able to do them all. Hell, we won't even be able to do all of Breck!

Based on those days, who is in? Give me a count by no later than say, 5PM EST next Wednesday so that I can start planning.

See ya on the slopes!

I am glad you picked there.

More than likely, I'll be there. I just have to get it off from work. I have yet to go to a JC function and I said I would be at a couple of them so I need to get to one.

I won't need a place to stay though, I have a friend who lives in Breck so I'll stay with her.

Now it is whether I fly or drive.....14 hours of driving which isn't bad, or rent a plane and fly would be great but would cost a lot.

So...I might be able to go if I can find some cheap airfare. I will have accrued one vacation day by that point and I can use it for that friday. However, you do realize that it's like a 2-3 hour drive from Denver to Breckenridge right?
