Hockey revisited

So we weren't able to make hockey work last year. I would like to try again. I have looked at a lot of options and we will need to get moving. The tournament that sticks out to me as a great one for us is played in Vegas from the 10 to the 13th of November next year. That gives everyone a long time to get money saved up, time off from work, permission from their wife (that may just be me that needs to do that...) How about responding if you are interested and please only respond if you mean it. I was thinking that with a full year in between, I can practice quite a bit and actually manage to stay on my feet most of the game. There are earlier tournaments including one in Scottsdale in March but I figured a long lead time would be better. Perhaps we could try and get together some and practice before then too, at least regionally. It will cost somewhere around $325 per player plus air. Hotel is included in that price. I'll attach a link to the place I found but if someone finds something they would prefer, let me know. Hey R2F, you can learn to play in a year...

I can't really say I'm in or out right now, but if you need a goalie I'd be more than willing...now whether or not I will have money at the time I'm not sure yet. I'd say its more than likely that I could make it though. Maybe if we beg the people higher up we could get them to have Network JC around the same time so we can have a cheering section ;-)

What class would the team be in? I think it would be a blast to do, and I've played defense for the last 4 years on an intramural team at college. If you guys are all college or club players (or played in highschool), I'd probably be more of a hindrance then anything.

No I can barely play. So you would be years ahead of me. I'd say we would be in mens C or D.

I would say that we should go men's C at the highest. We're going to be throwing together a bunch of guys who have never played together before. We'll maybe have one skating session before we actually have to play.

Unless we've got some really talented people, that's a disaster in the making at the higher levels.

Truthfully, it is a disaster in the making at any level except perhaps midgets but it will be fun...

Well a year certainly is a good length of time to try and get things figured out. I haven't played in quite a few years, in fact I haven't even been on ice since 2002.

Eventhough it would be pretty hard to work out, don't count me out yet.

Well some people have talked about this again in the general forum so what do ya'll say? We can do something next spring if we need more time. I still can't skate to save my life but I do a good job intimidating goailies by running into one each and every game. (Sometime it is my own goalie though

)

I may be able to get a deal at the rink I used to play at. My teammate/buddy's dad owns the rink we used to play at in Fort Lauderdale.

Its been a year now since Ive strapped on my skates to play, so Im itchin to go.
