Default Phoenix M&G this weekend

Anyone up for getting together either Friday or Saturday night this weekend?

DougieT has off and it'll be probably the only time this month we'll be able to do something.

Plus - pilot602, I need to get you your goodie bags, they're sitting here gathering dust!

I'd so be there if I wasn't going to be at the Bowling Green vs. Western Michigan football game. But you can watch the game on ESPN and I can be there in spirit?

I'd ask but she's snoring on the couch next to me. Must be a lot of heavy lifting involved in civil engineering these days!

I'm up for it ... actually why doesn;t everyone come down to the CAF Fly In at FFZ this weekend. I'm manning the school's booth, but get off like at 5:30-6-ish then we could all head over to the Monastery there on the field.

There is a "cover" to get into the CAF thing but it includes a tour through the B-17 Sentimental Journey! There will be other warbirds there and other type of cool stuff.

Just an idea ... but I'll go anywhere though - just let me know!

John, what day and how much to get in? I can't find any info via net....

does a fly-in sound cool to everyone? It wouldn't bother me at all to get some outdoor time!

Also, there's the Carefree Art & Wine Festival this weekend too (for anyone whose snobbish enuff to buy a $6+ glass of wine and look are REALLY expensive art!) it is kinda fun to walk around though...

if anyone decides to come into town, we've got a room open!

ok.. whatcha'll think of meeting over at FFZ for the fly-in on saturday afternoon/evening! sounds like some pretty good WWII planes will be there (and I wanna see em! I'm a "gotta see it" history buff) and cover is only $5 to get out onto the field and apparently, you can buy a ride in the B-17 but there's no information as to what the cost is....

I have a baby shower to go to (yes, another one) and probably won't get out till 2 or 3... but we could definately plan on meeting at 4pm, check out the planes, grab some brewski's over at the monastery or hang out with John till he's done and just enjoy the afternoon/evening!

check out the website and location map for FFZ - Falcon Field Website

John, if your working it out there on saturday, can we meet wherever your booth is going to be?

I work Sat and Sun evenings (as well as mornings) at the booth. We'll be located in the main hanger in the center row(s) near the hangar door. We'll have banners all over the booth so it'll be pretty hard to miss.

I'm scheduled on from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Sat night. I think the show closes down around 5p.m. but not sure so if you want to actually walk around and see stuff earlier is better.

But when everyone's seen everything wander over to our booth (Falcon Executive Aviation) and then we can go invade the Monastery.

Dood, you MISSED OUT! we had a GREAT time! and unfortunately, I forgot to get a photo.

Doug and I went out to the CAF Fly-in and saw some great old warbirds.. met up with John (Pilot602) and hit the Monastery.. The Monastery is a "we supply the food/beer, you cook it via grill" type of place with a lot of outdoor dining tables, 2 volleyball courts, ping pong and a band on the weekends. for a saturday night, it was pretty hopping and we stayed, talked, drank for quite a while! We met John's "date" later on and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with John's taste in women's...

overall, a great time once again... Max is hilarous, MikeD is ready to rumble with SDL complainers.. doug can talk flying/planes all night long and I was pretty tickled that I got to talk to another girl for a while about other stuff than pilot/flying...and ASU won over Sanford by just a smidge!

We'll do it again sometime in the near future.. word is, that The Taylors might be having an xmas shindig in December...so if your looking for sending this year off with a bang (not on new years cuz we all know our pilots work during the holidays), keep in mind that this will be our only party in 2004 and we'll be deckin the halls in STYLE! we just don't know what weekend yet.

Yup it was cool! Pretty laid back gathering. Now, my 5:30 a.m. flight the next day was a little rough but sometimes you gotta take one for the team.

Oh just a heads up my FBO/work is having an Open House this saturday (Nov. 13) free food and donuts! If anyone would like to stop by feel free I'll most likely be around all day.
