| Who was crowned go karting champ? I had to hold back as it was no fun just racing around miles ahead of you. My bowling game was less impressive. |

| Agent Smith | I think it started with a race, and ended up with drive by shooting re-enactments, "Spin the Penguin" and "Smear the Chris" |

| My camera performed horribly yesterday. These are the only pictures that semi came out. I wish we could have taken pictures of the Boeing plant. (No Cameras allowed!) -Heres our instructor telling us about the MD11 door and how to operate the beast. ![]() -Another pic the MD11 door Demo ![]() -The MD80 Mockup to train cabin procedures and proper exit methods and smoke in the cockpit. The guy loaded us up in it and then filled it with smoke, it was quite an experience. ![]() -Here the first run in the MD11 Sim, our instructor was this german guy. He was helpful and guided us all to how to fly the thing. Surprisely the MD11 was pretty easy to fly. ![]() -I was messing around with the exposure settings of my camera and got this shot. Heres Doug and CaptainChris. Doug is showing us all how it's done in the MD11. I was impressed with how real the Sim is. It really feels like we were moving. One thing this picture doesn't show is the rest of us standing in the back of the Sim being thrown around. Goodtimes. ![]() -Heres me trying to figure out the seatbelt on the MD11. We all got to do a takeoff and landing at KSFO. The Cockpit was amazing. ![]() -Another pic of the sim ![]() -Heres a pic of the outside of the MD11 sim. This is one of the many sims Alteon has. I got my camera taken away since it wasn't allowed at Boeing, I couldn’t take any picture of the other sims alteon has. We got to sit in a 737NG, MD80, and a 737-200 sim. All were really cool, and it was a treat to have Doug with us to explain everything and share all his memories with us! ![]() After the Sim ride we headed over to the Longbeach Boeing plant. We were privileged to get to board a brand spanking new B717. A test pilot for Boeing led the tour. The thing just rolled off the assembly line had zero flight time, and even had the new airplane smell. It was a Midwest Airlines 717, the cabin was incredible and the cockpit was really neat. All Glass upfront. We then piled into a mini van and went to the assembly line of the B717. The old MD building was huge. I was very impressed with how Boeing does it. We got to walk into two planes being built for AirTran and see some really cool things. The Tour was led by some Boeing Exec and he did a fabulous job of showing us around. I want to Thank Mike(MPenguin1) and Ed for setting this up. They went above and beyond, and really showed us a goodtime. Also I would like to thank Doug and Kristie, Without Jetcareers, none of this would have happened. It was also nice meeting everyone. I'm bummed I missed out on last nights activities. |

| Old Skool | [ QUOTE ] What is Alteon? [/ QUOTE ] Ouch! JUST KIDDING Alteon, is a subsiderary of Boeing, we train the pilots in aircraft over 100 seats, provide Corporate F/A training & safety/culinary training for Corporate crew members, tech training for all aircraft, etc. When Boeing sells aircraft they provide the customers with a certain number of credit, which the customer can use for training or other. We may provide training to the airlines or lease our simulator directly to the airlines. Our customer base goes from A - Z, Airtran, Alaska, America, FAA, Delta, FAA, various BBJ customers and FBO's, just to name a few of our various customers. Sometimes we are approached directly by an airline when they are still in the beginning stages and we assist in the airline getting started. Long Beach has the following simulators - MD11, 737-200, MD82, MD88, 717, 737NG. There are about 20 Alteon Training Centers World Wide. Perhaps the most exciting thing is that our Seattle office is working directly with Boeing on building training plans on the 7E7 for both pilot & technical training plans for pilots, F/A's, & mechanics. |

| Last night was awesome - we had guys at many different levels - and everyone just got on great. I spoke to Darrin today (to see if he had checked the sports scores on ACARS - Doug told him how), and he mentioned even though he onlylurked JC occasionally he had an awesome time and will be joining, so expect him on here, and a perspective section once he has finished moving. |

| Mate can't say - when Dougie T, Mrs. JC, and E.N. hit the town you know something big is happening. The thing I realised last night, there is no other career where there is a site as indepth about a career. You think about that and realise that JC is more then that everyone here is so accesible, the 'head cheese' comes to town to drink beers, and go hog wild racing go-karts, if you have a question it will get answered, if you have never been flying, someone will take you, guys here show you around their ride when they are in town, etc. JC is really just something magical - much like Disneyland, but cooler. |
