Dood, between you and Capt. Chris, you guys are super demanding with this video!! Why can't you be happy with what you are given and say "thanks kristie for taking all that time to put it together and thanks doug for posting it and using up so much bandwith" instead of "more more more" You guys both sound like whiney kids who didn't get what they wanted for christmas and instead of being happy with waht you did recieve you just complain.

I said it was cool and off course I thank both Doug and Kristie for it. I'm not just demanding more and more, I just asked that if they had a higher quality video for them to please post it.

Not if there were people with low speed internet. They said it themselves they had huge videos. I asked if they could post it. If they can or not oh well. Better to ask thsn not to ask.

Brian, you're young, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Two things to think of.

Doug pays for bandwidth. Put up a huge file, and when people download it, what happens? That's right, buddy. His costs go up.

Not everyone has a fast DSL or cable modem. There are a lot of people who are accessing the web with a 56K modem. Put up a huge file and it's a royal pain for them.

So, think it through. Higher bandwidth demands for Doug, costing him more money, and problems with people downloading it. Not a good idea.

But lets think about this even more brian.. they said that they want to limit the downloads, because of bandwidth issues.. Now Don't you think that a bigger file, will create more bandwidth consumption.. I also doubt that It can get any better than what it is. Seeing by how they were using a Digital Camera, and not a Digital Video camera. The Size of un-compressed video is ridiculous too.

yeah.. the problem with that is - file size.. right now, the file is 5.8 or so megs large.. any larger and it uses up a lot of server space that is really needed for other things right now - not to mention the bandwidth taken for downloading it...

now if our anonymous donor still wants to host it on their site, then if it's ok with him/her, i can make a better quality export.. but that's not up to me...I can only do what I can do!

[/ QUOTE ] Very good point Matt.. we were using a camera that has video capability and altho it looks great on the camera and on my video explosion software.. it doesn't look that great exported out to .mov or .wmv unless it's like 100megs or so...and that would take dialup users DAYS to download.. 2.5 or 5 megs is one thing.. but to make it really look good would make it extremely large and unbelievable difficult for others to work with! I know I don't have that much time to let my computer sit and upload 100 megs of a file! for me, that would take forever - even on cable modem!

now - if we could find a way to view it via webpage where it doesn't take as much bandwidth or space, then that would probably be ideal... i haven't yet checked out that portion of the software i'm working with though...just not enuff time in the day!

The reason the quality was so bad is because my video player was default at a higher resolution. I lowered the resolution and it improved a lot.

Guys be kind to Brian - the reason he wants a high quality video was because the star of the video is me, and he wants to admire my bueaty, as I am sure many others do - it is very understandable.

Seriously guys the hosting cost of this site is quite significant - and remember the people who recieve the most from this site do not pay a dime, the people who are doing the giving do - no where else on the net does that happen.
