Default Madrid

I might be heading to Madrid soon. Any ideas on what to do when I'm there? Are there any must sees? Areas to avoid? Any good places to eat?

Thanks!

Get down to Plaza Mejor! (sp?)

You can't swing a dead cat and not hit a good joint for tapas.

The crew standards are the (and I'm going to misspell this) but Meson Champignon (Mushroom House) and the touristy "Bull Bar". The Bull Bar is right on the plaza and the Mushroom House is... hmm. Say you're at the Bull Bar, facing opposite of the door. Turn to your right, walk up to the first intersection you can make a left turn at, and walk down about a block, it's on the left side.

There's a place nearby the Plaza that's really my favorite for tapas because it doesn't get a lot of tourists, has absolutely KILLER Spanish tortillas, but I don't remember what it's called. I'll email the skipper that took me there if you're interested.

Another place near the Plaza is killer a little later on. Two levels, killer food on top and a "night beach party" atmosphere downstairs with sand and everything.

Sorry bro, I'm a pilot so it involved, food or egregious amounts of beer!
