I'm looking for a hotel in the phoenix area that is pretty nice and gives a good crew rate.

Getting any type of break this time of year in Phoenix is tough. Try The Pointe Squaw Peak.

Try the Twin Palms on Apache Blvd across from ASU. It's within walking distance to Mill Ave.
