Default Knoxville

Big layover city? I dunno...but here are some places you might try.

Bars: The Old City - ask anyone who looks under the age of 30 - best bars in the city. Urban and Hannah's to name a couple. The bars right around the UT area can be a little...well lets just say 21 and up doesn't always apply to the co-eds and the greasy old guys of greater Knoxville are aware of this. Also, Downtown Bar and Grill is pretty decent. Good in-house brews. Not bad for not being...you know...Boston.

Restaurants - Cha Cha has great tapas, Petro for something different (fast food, different take on chili...kind of a UT thing), Sunspot if you're into organic stuff...Calhouns is a big local spot...pick one of the 5 or so locations in the city. Seriously, just walk around downtown...Market Square also has some great chow.

Stuff to do: Layover in Thursday night in the spring? Sundown in the City - everyone from Tom Petty to student alt-rock bands with "herbal" induced lyrics...but its all free. Theres always UT football/baseball/basketball...but Sundown is worth the trip over.
