| They got some routes from OAK and HHR. They hired for a class starting this week. Don't know if they're hiring anyone beyond just that one class.

Probably will keep another class going after this one since we continue to lose people.

| Old Skool | Oh really? FLX is flying out West now, too? Hmmm... What are the chances of flying out West? What are the routes?

Don't know the route...California should be full after this class. That is why they were hiring. CPS is a base...maybe. I have no idea if the people in this training class got through or not. Not this class but the one before started with 12, 4 got past the sim, and only 2 made it to the line...you do the math.

| http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...t_express.html 39 pilots and 84 planes? Hiring Boom I would've thought... Do you have a C-210/BE-55 Sim? Sounds odd, I'd have thought they'd take you up in the a/c but I guess a sim/PTD can sort out the good and bad eggs quicker. Do they fly single pilot then for all a/c? Alex. |

Yes you fly single pilot. You might get to ride with someone your first two days on the line to see some of the runs but thats where it stops.

| Unless you break down. Then you get to install a second seat in the C210. Hope all goes well for those down in Orlando.

I know on their website it says IFR PIC 135 mins are required, but there is an article in the news archives from 2005 that says they hire VFR pilots with less mins...does anyone know which is correct? I know things may have changed since the article was published. Thanks.

I am pretty sure they are only looking for IFR 135 mins. When they were getting the VFR guys was when a lot of guys were getting on with the regionals with low time. Just my thoughts nothing official.

| hee. Radios. VORs. Some have two glideslopes. Do you want model numbers or are you hoping to hear "G150,000,000"? PS. Think they stopped taking VFR guys sometime in 2008. |

Good answer. I haven't worked there for a while, but at least when I did, while there wasn't very much equipment, what there was worked and if it didn't it got fixed. Good job, two thumbs up.

| Dual navs and comms. A select few have Radar or a VFR GPS. A fair amount have a Loran. Quote:

I'm not in the loop by any means but by doing the math on our attrition rate I'd say thats a good possibility.

Hello, I am new to the industry, and am seriously considering the Pt. 135 route. Please excuse my naivete but that is why I am asking questions. Flight Express is a company I'm looking at as I am rapidly approaching 135 mins (1100tt everything else met). I would like the idea of being based in FL though I do understand it is a bid system. From some of the other threads I see that there are mixed feelings about Flight Express. It seems that a lot are due to FE taking routes of another carrier. For those that are in the know, or currently work there, what is it like? Is it livable on the wage? Can I expect to make the minimum that is posted on the website, middle range or upper range? Any kind of information would be much appreciated and thanks for your time and please feel free to PM me if you don't want to post on the thread.

I left in 2007. When I left, you were far more likely to be on a run that paid towards the top of the scale than towards the bottom. In addition, the low paying, low time runs were sometimes sought after by part timers. If you want to make a decent paycheck, you probably will. You will work your butt off for it, most likely, but it will be available to you. Again, all 2 years + out of date.
