Default Jobs @ Jeppesen

Jeppesen posted a few new jobs over the past few days. They are obviously non-flying jobs, but still interesting jobs that would allow you to work in the aviation industry.

Flight Dispatcher

Customer Training Specialist

Training System Integrator

I've applied 3 times to the last two, and no reply to any, not sure what they're looking for. CFII for 2 years, 400 dual given, extensive contract training, and I've worked for 3 airlines. So... good luck?

You should dumb down your resume. They believe you are over qualified....but who gets the better deal, eh? Yeah, they lose time and money if you find that job flying again that you can not get now. This also applies for the career change jobs too, trust me I KNOW! I can hear them thinking "so, why are you not flying? Flying is a great job! You want to quit that to do this? Com'on ...next please!" and your resume gets pushed aside like it's not there.

I am known to hang my ass out the window with Jepp, because I used to work there. Recently tried to contact one of the big cahunas I used to work with, to have a direct look at a resume of a JC'er...

NoGo. Use HR to it's fullest extend. Unfortunately the company seems to have changed a bit from the times when I was there. Just because something is advertised on the website does not mean they actually NEED someone or don't have a assload of applicants. I'm not sure if they prefer pilots to remain pilots, way back when, the company had quite some advantages through being a "collecting pot" for pilots.

It is always recommendable not to apply unless all and every qualifications are met. Have your resume looked at by someone, and make sure your coverletter actually makes them wonder about you. They might well use scanners to look for keywords and if none are found your packet goes to the shredder...

Good luck!
It's a good company to work for.

They stopped paying their employees with naturals, stones, potatoes and hookers. I believe they use the good old US $ (Dallah) now, too.
Could be wrong though.

I managed to get hired there recently. I will say that they have alot to choose from as there are tons of people out there with lots of credentials. Pretty much all of the new hires are furloughed pilots, mostly from majors.

The work is interesting and definetly keeps you up to date on flying stuff. The people are great, and while the pay isn't great, it is better than any pilot salary you will make in the next few years if you are just starting out.

Keep applying if you are interested, they always seem to have openings.

As far as them being afraid you will leave and go back to flying, don't believe it for a second. Half the building is in that type of situation so they are not afraid to hire those types.
