25 ME for a C182?

That is easy to come by but still in the realm of stupid.

I am pretty sure that it is 25 in type. That is what it sounded like when I talked to them on the phone. The 500TT / 25 in type is a insurance requirement and I only meet the time in type.

Well, I couldn't find a contact us or a e-mail address to send them a resume on their web site. Everything else is on it though. Had to get it through another web site dropzone.com.

Definitely a great opportunity for a JC'er. "Jump" on it.

I remember that feeling too. Now, with 2500TT and 900ME I'm wishing I could magically jump to 500 Turbine to make me competitive for the few corporate jet jobs out there. It never ends....lol

Now where's the JC'er that jumps on here to tell us that the 182s regularly fly with a burning electric smell, that you have to sleep with the owner's daughter (nicknamed Diabetty for a reason) to get any flying time, and that they only pay you at the end of the month ... in crab legs. Isn't this about the point in these threads where this happens?

Golden Statement!

Don't get mad for this, but let me state this:

Quote:
really wish i could magically jump to 500 hours
A few years ago I was a Private Pilot with 300 hours.
I dreamt of possibly flying for a living one day, maybe sightseeing flights, maybe banner towing, maybe as a CFI. There where people who had gotten all their 250 hours in a few months and they where getting jobs left and right. I was short on cash, based on a 4000 mile move and suddenly working for less than 1/12'th of what I used to make besides living in 'career death county'.

Now I have more than 500 hours and remember well how I felt.
Rest assured, your certificates are just as worthless at 300 hours as they are at 500 and 850 hours. Example:

Quote:
I remember that feeling too. Now, with 2500TT and 900ME I'm wishing I could magically jump to 500 Turbine to make me competitive for the few corporate jet jobs out there. It never ends....lol
We all need to be patient and remember all the employers who ignore us to death today. They will be needing pilots again, one day.

My first flight job required 500...I had 339.
The guy at the other skydive place on the field had 290 when he started.

My second flight job required 750...I had 556.

I know times have changed, but if you want the job, apply anyways

Bingo, my first 135 flying job was posted as "1200TT, 200ME, B1900 experience highly desired." I got on with 490TT, a pulse, and 12ME. All about who you know, and how you can sell yourself with smaller more personable operators for the most part.

The job I have now came from a recommendation, and the owner said he'd "consider me for part time maybe if a need arose." Right as I was handing the man my completed UA paperwork, PRIA stuff, and my resume, an old friend of mine walked into the building and said, "Mike, hire this guy. He's a good guy, and he won't let you down." Mike looked at me and said, "Two's the magic number, you start ASAP, ok?" All chance, if my friend hadn't come in at exactly the right time, I'd still be down in Kodiak, dodging mountains, and being scared. Timing is everything. Now the pressure's on not to let him down so my friend doesn't look like an ass. Guarantees good employment.
