How's your job coming along Mini? Still busy flying for the big bucks?
I just had to bust your balls when I got the chance.

Me? Oh yeah...it's great. My wife took this of me a week ago. I normally wear pants, but this was a special occasion.

No my friend, you got that wrong, your wife took this picture of me and the gauge is outdated, I'm at 97.5 ft now. Howbout you?

Anything in the Pacific Northwest if officially out. There's talk of bidding on some eas lines out of Pittsburg to places like Latrobe but there's nothing close on the horizon.

We have so many pilots that are on furlough that it's more likely we'll start hiring seriously again if there are recalls, so keep an ear open for Eagle or JetBlue pilots going back to work, since it will mean Cape Air needs more pilots.

A hah! Thanks for the info there, I'll be needing to keep an eye on that.

Got an email today in response to my application two weeks ago. Said they don't have any classes scheduled but will keep my resume on file for one year with the one million others.

.....back to enjoying the recession...

I've left about 5 messages on their pilot recruit line over the past couple months, and haven't heard a thing back from them. Maybe they dont like my voice.

You guys need to realize that Cape and any other company is swamped with resumes and applications right now! I think it will be some time before Cape will start hiring actively again, at least until some of the current pilots at Cape will be re-called. One of my buddies got hired on with Cape about a month ago, but he has no clue when his class date will be.

I started applying back in September. I still haven't heard anything. I understand now, but back then it seemed like they were going crazy. Maybe that was just the perception I got.

A call or e-mail to say "thanks for your now leave us alone" would have been great.

That would have shown you any respect and courtesy Mini.
Employers can't do that!

As I said, they could cover three states with resume's just like every person operating any plane right now could.

Maybe they just don't like you.
I threw an app. in there at the same time and I got a call the next day. I turned it down and they called me a week later to make sure I didn't want to come in and interview.

Honestly, it's hard to get anyone at this company to respond to a voicemail. I can think of maybe two times I've had a direct response from a phone message I left. You have to go through email with these people. I don't know why, it's just the way it is.

BTW, CRJ- love your new avatar. Makes me miss the states even more . . .

I love the irony of how no one would touch a great company like this 18 months ago and now the place is flooded down with resumes.

The sad part is that 90% of these people will quit or turn down a class date at the first sign of their airline doing recalls.

For a job that has you home just about every night, IF NOT every night, you can make a comfortable living. And your reply doesn't make it right.

That, like almost everything in the 135 world, is entirely subjective to base, line, and willingness/ability to work overtime. There is plenty of good money to be made if you're willing and able to work for it. If not, then look elsewhere . . .
