Just what we need. Less protection for our borders. The one thing I hope we can count on is the illegal Mexican immigrants telling border patrol something like this. Recite in your best Tattoo voice, "escuse me senior, (points to terriost), but he no speaka spaniesh!"

I have heard this is a good and interesting gig. You can search for CBP (Customs and Border Protection) positions on www.usajobs.gov. Remember that the selected candidate will be sent to Federal Law enforcement training for about 8 weeks I believe before doing anything realted the flying part of this job. |

I talked with the Border *Protection* guys at Oshkosh, and they made it sound sweet. As said above, you go to the Federal Law Enforcement training; however they said it's much easier then basic training in the military. They said PT is a joke too. Afterwards you go to flight school. One of the guys I spoke to flew the citation and blackhawks. I love that it's not a military job, therefor you've not signed your life away, and I love that you're also a federal law enforcement agent; and I love that you fly! It's definitely my dream job (after Seaborne Airlines) and it's a shame to hear Obama may stop hiring...I gotta get 1370 hours in the next couple of days then!

Actually, I think it was 300,000 new jobs, he didn't specify where, but in his campaign rhetoric he said one of the first things he would do was freeze Gov't jobs and that is what I'm hearing from all the guys I worked with. (I retired out of Homeland Security) He has also appointed the pro-immigrant anti-enforcement gov of Arizona as head of Homeland Security which is over CBP In any case we'll see in just a few more days
