Default Looking for a CFI/CFII in LA are

Hey folks`
We are looking for a full time CFI/CFII in the Los Angeles area. Our flight school is based at Whiteman Airport (KWHP) and we are currently the sole flight training facility for fixed wing aircrafts here at Whiteman.
The flight school along with its sister company are moving to our brand new FBO facility this month and we will be the largest FBO and hanger rental establishment (Private) on the field. We expect to expand very fast and therefore are looking to hire for a full time CFI/CFII that is local and familiar to the area preferably.
All the instructors are contract employess at the flight school and the flight school does not take anything out of their pay. The rate of pay starts at $30.00/hr and it is paid by clock (Ground and Flight).
We have ten Cessnas on the flight line including a G1000 and thinking about bringing back our Multi Engine aircraft as well. Things are looking good for us althought the economy is not at its best shape but the airport is widely popular around Southern California and the new facility will bring more traffic in definately.
Our lates hire has been averaging 60 hours of flying per month just out of the flight school and flying five days a week. Most instructors also have private students on the field not associated with the school therefore generating more income and flight time.
If this sounds good to you then send me an email with your resume attached to fly@vistaair.com. I am the flight school manager of the facility and the interviews are done by me and the owner, if succesful in passing the interview then you will also do a flight test with the owner.

Yours`
Armen Rostami

P.S: PM me if you have any questions, you can also use the email address mentioned in the post.

ha. ha. ha. don't work for these guys. if anyone has any questions on the reason for the negativity and would like the REAL inner workings of this flight school, please, feel free to PM me. It is a mistake to work for them, you will realize this if you do work there, sooner or later.

Don't force me to publicly announce the reasons you were let go of this flight school Sean. Your short comings and incapability to deliver as a trained professional has nothing to do with the enviornment.
You should remember that there was enough professionalism and courtesy from the owners that you were asked to leave in a "Good Standing" meaning you would get positive recommendations for your future endeavours so don't change that by making a mistake. This industry is very small in a sense of community and any little thing can help or harm your future career in aviation.

On a side note I want to thank all of you that have sent me resumes already and please keep them coming. I will be reviewing them with the owners and will get back to you sometime in the next week.

Not 100% true. People have said this in the past, but I have seen nor heard anything to prove this saying right or wrong.

Well, I have, and I've only been flying for pay a few years.

And I know a few dozen pilots that would also agree with the statement you question.

It really is a small community.

Thumbs up Re: Looking for a CFI/CFII in LA are

Hey folks`
Me and C 172 Captain have worked out things that are private in beetween us already and I still haven't finished reviewing the resumes that I have recieved so far. If you are interested hit me up with your resume and I promise that I will answer every single one of your emails.
The reason I posted this up here although I already had 11 resumes on file before starting the thread was to give a chance to the ever so awesome JC community to have the opportunity of having a decent job at a decent place with a very decent pay.
I am not here to brag about anything or beg anyone for anything so if you are courteous as I have been so far then please feel free to ask me any questions you might still have.

Well done and much appreciated.

I wish I could find something to post up here in the jobs available.

Thank you sir, the only way we will grow as a professional community and let the public understand that we deserve to still and always be treated as a very skilled minority among all the careers out there is to educate, help and at the same time positivley criticize eachother. This will only lead to a portrayal of professionalism and demand everyone to respect and validate that.
A small push from anyone or any organization in this industry can get an aspiring aviator a long way and I hope no one forgets that ever and they also pay it forward as it has been the motto and goal of this website for years now.

O.K. everone. Let me get this striaght. Someone comes in here to post a job opening in these forums, in an industry that is struggling right now, and all everyone can say is "ehh, don't go work there, they are jerks!" And then in some other threads, people are saying "you are lucky to have a job!" I think we all need to take a step back and re-evaluate or professional attitude that we show in these forums ME INCLUDED. It will eventually catch up with you. It has been said before in this thread, and I will say it again. This is a small comunity, and it will get back around to you some how, some way. Have you ever heard of the rule of seven?

Trust me. I've been in this industry one or two years. This is a true statement- military or civilian; flight instructing, part 91, 135, 121... you name it. Yeah, some a-holes make it through. But eventually things normally catch up to them.

I understand that but I have been it since 2001 and I know PLENTY of people that have burned me and others included. Im just saying I don't buy into that whole statement. As far as people stating their opinion on whether or not to work someplace, well thats the beauty of a public forum.

At the same time what you call "The beauty of a public forum" can also have and will have its direct negative effects on something that you or anybody else has not seen or experienced.
I invite all of you to drop by the flight school anytime if you are in the area and be the judge yourself. Just go around the airport and ask about the instructors and the flight school in general, those are the people that will give you the true answer.
I am very proud of our flight school and the combined work of myself and my coworkers and have absolutely nothing to hide.
I might sound defensive to some of you but as someone else mentioned this already a few posts earlier, I posted this opening here just to give you folks a chance at it even though there are more than plenty of resumes with 1000+ hours of dual given on file right by my desk. So you can see that plenty of experienced folks wanna work at our establishment and it is threads like this that deviate from its main purpose and make me think twice before ever attempting on posting another opening here.
I am saying all these as we are moving to a facility that not only will make us the largest full operational FBO on the field but also the largest of its category in Southern California and that means a lot of job opportunities with good pay and benefits in a variety flying and non flying position.

You may need to be a more specific....

I agree with Richard. Just because the jobs get few, doesn't mean I get desperate in the bad times. It is not as black and white as bad times = you get to treat me like dirt or good times = I run the show because you need me.
It is a happy grey area, just like the regs.

You gotta know when it is time to sell shoes.

:comment not directed at aero_engineer school, but just a general observation about industry and economy. Thanks for the job post, many need it.:

I know it is frustrating to have a couple people make the negative comments about your flight school, but I'm sure that most here are very appreciative of the offer.

Based on my own experiences when I've seen people make uncalled for comments especially when you are offering a service the negative comments have little to no effect the offer, but largely on the person making the comments.

I am glad that you are making the post for job offers and I am sure that others appreciate it as well. With out the job offers the job offer section would't be here at all.
