I'm not sure about Vista but the airport and the area is perfect for flight instructing as well as some of the most beautiful sceneries you'll get to fly over and explore. Be aware however that the neighborhood where the airport is located at is the poorest neighborhood in all of LA, with the highest unemployed percentage in LA, it is literally like the slums of Mexico along with the gunshots at night. Still nice airport.

Pacoima isn't the best neighborhood in the world, but it's not as bad as you make it out to be. It's not the poorest place in LA either. It's a little piece of TJ in a decent city. Check out the area in and around Echo Park, then come back in here and see if you still think the same way. Pacoima used to be a stomping ground of mine. I live preaty close. It's not the place you'd send your daughter out alone at night, but then again, neither are some places in my home town, and it's one of the safest in the US, ranked #4 in 100k to 499k people.
