Haha, I've actually heard PR is competitive! I wouldn't mind BUF (I hear the AIAs cross-train with the MIAs sometimes), and would absolutely love SAN, TPA, JAX, MIA, IAH, SAT, TUS, or DTW (I realize that those are the major airport codes and not the actual locations). Quick question - would you wager to say that most AIAs are logging over 200 hours a year? I realize that everything is contigent upon your branch, but I'm just trying to get a feel for the flying side of the house. Pretty excited to fill out my packet on Tuesday (on a trip)! I've filled out SF-86s before for two other GS-1811 jobs, so I think most of the legwork is done. J. |

| I'd say about 200 per year is average to above average, depending.

Hey all, can anyone help me out? I have been reading this post for awhile now and I have a couple questions. First off, congrats to all of you that received phone calls and interviews. That's awesome, this is a dream job. I also have applied for this position back in Nov and received my NOR letter. I received a 99 rating, which I have no idea what that means. All I know is that people with lower scores are getting interviews and I am wondering if I am missing something or am doing something wrong. My previous life was an active duty military pilot then transferred to the ANG flying tankers. I also fly for an airline (which sucks, sorry to the airline guys). I am not trying to give my whole bio here just painting a picture to see if there are any other guys in my shoes? Any rumors about when more interviews are coming down the line? Any info would be great..... |

I've still never seen any of the "over 40" CBP jobs posted.

What a nice guy. If you're going to send them to the wilderness, I guess the least you can do is send'em to Texas wilderness They can look forward to the weekly trip to Van Horn to get decent grocery's. Probably beats Deming

Blog Entries: 9 | The only ones you'll see are for inspector (CBP Officer) jobs at the airport port of entries or border port of entries, but those are non Law Enforcement retirement coverage cube jobs mostly. The Border Patrol is doing an up to 40 wavier right now, but that is has high as I've seen any Law Enforcement coverage jobs go to. To fly with them you have to be a ground agent for at least three years.

Only flying the Predator, and it, too, is a non-LE position.

It depends. Each posting you're competing against the scores of the other applicants to get an interview. After scoring the interview, the score means nothing. I was told it took a mid-90's score to get a call and was discouraged to get an 84. Got the interview and the job. So, don't be discouraged, but it is a little on the low end. |

I finished the application a few weeks ago and haven't hear anything. How long does it usually take to find out your score?? Just curious, i know its a long process after that. |

| Usually a few months. Even the guys waiting for background check have a while, esp if holding no prior security clearance (DoD clnc doensn't carry over, but makes the process quicker).
