Hey guys, I noticed there was a new post for these positions on uspilot.com on April 9th. It's strange because the Usajobs link in the announcement says the listing has been removed ![]() I can apply through uspilot, but I don't think I can include the extra information that they want through that site (copies of certificates, logbook pages, etc). Anyone have any tips for me? Thanks |

The uspilot posting may simply be a recycle. If the job isn't available on USAJobs.gov then it's no longer available.

The entries on USAjobs change every so often, it is taken down and a new one is added with different vacancies/etc. I know the CPB is still recruiting for this position but it is very competitive. Don't rely on links to USAjobs because they get stale quickly, go to www.usajobs.com and search for air interdiction agent.

Do civilians get picked up for this job, or is it mostly ex-military (on airframes beyong the p-3)?

| Yes, civilians do. Yes, mostly ex-military, but civilians do get aboard.

Civilians get hired. Even if you're ex-military I don't think you can get on the P3 unless you flew the P3 in the military but I don't know for sure.

Interesting. On the CBP website, it says that half the TT can be waived, is that mostly for military pilots? I'm still a long ways off from even half the TT time, but I'm working on my helo license and considering this as a career path

![]() NOTE: Up to 50% of the 1500 hour total flight requirement may be waived upon verification of prior specialized skills and experiences (e.g., general military flight experience and training, complex aircraft flight instructor experience, multi-engine aircraft time, night vision device operations, imminent danger, and terrain and/or over-water operations.) Most of this is specific to military flying, but not all of it. My guess would be that military flying is weighted heavily but all your time is looked at.

Mike - They didn't offer any location so far. I'm on a trip, but from the sound of it, it's just a COE and SF-86, stating that location is TBD. J. |

Don't know yet. Apparently, they're not giving out locations until the firm offers now. I'm just happy to get the job! I'll go where-ever, although I'd prefer a FL location.

| Thanks! I think it's "hurry up and wait" time from what I've heard. I've spoken with guys who interviewed in June and January of 2008/2009 that haven't EOD'd yet, so I'll consider myself lucky if I get to FLETC by the end of the year. Regardless, I'm tremendously excited for the opportunity!

Got that right, the only time I've seen it move fast was when we spun up the Air Marshal program. One week from app to interview and 10 days from interview to EOD. When I joined the Border Patrol, It was 6 months from app to interview and over a year to EOD. Congrats and welcome to the Club Fed to both of you
