| Junior Member | Thanks for posting this, unfortunally I'm 3 years away from the requirements otherwise I'd be on it in a heartbeat. (and I still have to convince the spouse that the move would be a good idea for the overall career - i've got her ok about China overall, Dubai is a bigger stretch)

| Senior Member | I could probably look this up, but here's a question. Do women have to follow any sort of dress codes/social norms typical of other Arab countries? I remember I had a friend in elementary school who moved to Oman. His mom wasn't allowed to wear shorts in public.

Further, are women allowed to drive, and if something happens, like they get pulled over for speeding, are they subject to harsher punishment than men? Are freedoms such as gun ownership and free speech respected or not tolerated? Can you be alone at 3 AM coming home from a trip, or do you need bodyguards, ala. LAX ghetto? | |

| Typhoonpilot is spot on. Although China is modernizing at lighting speed, the culture & general environment is pretty much local-centric. Dubai is very much an oasis for expats where communities/support structure are well established & a critical mass of western families reside in a reasonable radius. Your wife will appreciate that. |

| Hi, Quick question. Does Emirates have a specific preference for the 2000 jet time (Passenger jet or Business jet)? Also, what about PIC time? |

| Would be nice if the US airlines offered such generous compensation. :-P The tax free pay and zero interest car loan sounds great! How does the non-rev pass system work out? Could I bring my wife with me on most of my trips or do they have limitations on that? |
