I was making more than that and I only had to be there 2 weeks a month. There is not enough money in Bethel to get me to go back, sad thing is I actually loved the flying, I just hated living in Bethel

Yooo-Chuh Koon Vyuhhhh (and then maybe a "t" at the end)

Actually, that place is pretty cool, rumor has it though that they may not have enough money to last much longer than the winter. Bethell, however, is not so cool. Bethel is the armpit of the ####### of the earth. A few weeks ago I met a nurse out there who told me she'd seen diseases out there that weren't even on the books yet - Hepatitis Q anyone? Its cold, windy, ######, and filled with drunks, hovels, and trash in the streets. If your idea of a good time is ferril (spelling?) dogs, cold wx, and the only escape being a bottle of R and R, then Bethole is your place!

Its really that bad.

and that bottle has to be bought over the phone and then flown in from anchorage. Bethel is a "damp" town meaning you can have booze there, but you cannot buy it there. Alot of the surrounding villages are "dry" no booze allowed at the behest of the native elders. Prohibition didn't work in the lower 48 and it has no chance in AK.

Hey it doesnt sound to bad! sure bethell is a little extreme, but the pay is great for a CFI and the free rent makes it even better (even if the name of the school is hard to say, lol)

i know a couple low guys that want to fly in AK, im gonna pass this oppertunity along to them.
