| Experienced Pilot Information Sessions Emirates Airline is a dynamic, multicultural organization with ambitious growth plans and a strong record of profitable growth. Due to our rapidly expanding fleet of Airbus A330/A340 and Boeing 777 aircraft, including orders of 58 Airbus A380s and 120 Airbus A350s, we are recruiting experienced and technically proficient First Officers to fly our extensive international route network and progress their careers to Captain. Emirates will be conducting information sessions in various cities within the US from 4th 12th December 2007. These sessions will provide more information on Emirates, our selection programme, the benefits of living and working in Dubai and details of our remuneration package. We will be able to review your experience and, if our criteria are met, an invitation to attend a simulator evaluation on-site in the US or a full selection programme in Dubai may be extended (travel fully funded). Please note that the sessions will begin sharply at the respective times and spouses are welcome to attend. 4th December 2007 Chicago Hyatt Regency OHare 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue Rosemount 1.00pm 4.30pm 5th December 2007 Minneapolis Minneapolis Airport Marriott 2020 American Boulevard East Bloomington 2.00pm 5.30pm 6th December 2007 Los Angeles Sheraton Gateway Hotel LA 6101 W. Is EK hiring RJ guys yet, or are they just trying to poach from the legacy carriers?

| Old Skool | We've had a lot of PCL CAs go over there in the past couple of years. I'd look into it, but the wife has put the nix on living in Dubai.

| Old Skool | About as well as an openly liberal, outspoken brown-over-blue wife would. I fear the day our two girls meet....

I have a friend who was an RJ checkairman at Skywest who went there. I'd say that was at least a year and a half ago.

Try Morocco...or go do some Hajj flights...now THOSe are countries where you don't want your blonde/blue wife. Even in the tourist traps. My gf was at least 1/4 lebanese, so at least the locals felt a little hesitant to hiss and grab in the discos.

I'll be at the Chicago open house. So if anyone else is thinking of going, I'll see you there.

I'll be in town that day and although I'm (I hope) approx. 2 yrs. from the minimums, I'd like to get my name in the hat. So, i'll be there also...

They do now say you can apply and be screened with 500 hours under the 4000/2000 requirements. That is for people with a current job who will reach those minimums by the time they start class. Typhoonpilot |

| Quite to the contrary. As long as you have the minimum flight time requirements and are under age 52 they will look at you for a First Officer position. In fact many of the guys coming from the regionals in the USA fit into the career changer definition. They know that Emirates is a good shot at getting to a widebody international captain position that they would otherwise be too old to hope for at a U.S. major. TP |

also, is an FAA ATP a ICAO ATPL, or is there a conversion required? I'm very interested in emirates (my girlfriend is too...they need and pay well for nurses in dubai as well). Would going to one of these open houses with only 1300TT and having just started as a regional FO be beneficial or would they just say "so what are you doing here again?" | |

Any word if EK will ever consider bases outside Dubai? They have alot of flights via Singapore and Bangkok, as well as the UK. Wouldn't be that difficult to pull off.

An FAA ATP = an ICAO ATPL. Jet means no propellers, although they could start counting heavy turboprop in the near future. Heavy turboprop meaning C-130, P-3, and possibly ATR 72 /Dash 8 Q400 class aircraft. The open house is informational in nature so going can't hurt. It will give you a better idea of what Emirates has to offer. Quote:
